This was the execution date in 1536 of Anne Boleyns co-accused, the undercard to the deposed queens beheading.
It was the accusation of adultery that furnished Annes downfall; some adulterers were perforce required. These were William Brereton, Henry Norris, Sir Francis Weston, Mark Smeaton and the ex-queens own brother, George Boleyn.
They had just days prior been subjected to a trial whose outcome was a foregone conclusion. All pleaded their innocence save Smeaton, a commoner court musician who could not withstand torture and admitted fooling around with Queen Anne.*

Yes, the "corrupt Roman church" that was defending the Biblical doctrine of marriage: one man, one woman, "until death do you part". Have heard of it? Anne "convinced" Henry by refusing his adulterous embraces until he agreed to leave the Church he had sworn to defend at his own coronation! Do you seriously think that breaking TWO holy vows -- Henry's marriage vow to Queen Katherine and his coronation oath -- taken before God is something admirable??
Of course Anne was an adulteress, or the term has no meaning.
