I’ve done it many times myself. You can learn a lot when you are able to see the bones of the house. You can tell good design from bad, good builders from sloppy builders, and good materials from bad ones. You can see problems before they happen, and tell if the home will be there for a hundred years or start to fall apart in just a few years.

I don’t know if was innocent , though it’s weird to go look around a house under construction, but this entire news story is just trying to rile up racial tensions in this country before the election.

I don’t know what’s going on here, and I haven’t watched any of the video on this, but it seems clear that the media is trying to turn this into a hype bandwagon racism event, and I’m not trying to ride it.
What did he steal?
The dead dude lived several miles away. There had been numerous reports of theft, and a description of the thief was the same as the dead dude.
One of the White guys was a retired cop, the other was his son.
They saw the black dude running and knew he matched the description of the alleged thief. They called 911 and parked the truck in front of the running black dude and told him to stop.
The earliest video showed the black dude fighting the old dude for his long gun before he was shot.
If the black guy had simple stopped and not fought the older guy for the gun he’d surely be alive today.

You remind me of a busybody who called the police on two suspicious older characters in her neighborhood many years ago. We were on an afternoon walk in our own neighborhood and she evidently didn’t like it. I was taking photos of homes for sale in the area to look them up when I got home.
Watch the video. There was open space in front of him. He could have gone right or left. Instead he charged toward the truck and attacked them.

my dad did it in his 30s and 40s and possibly later took the whole family. but usually it was in a new development and he was getting ideas for when he might have built a home himself..he never did. If he found it interesting we were back to look when it was an open and completed house.
