As I understand it, the purpose of “social distancing” is to be beyond the distance of a cough or sneeze by another. So if you are wearing a mask, and those around you are wearing masks, is the distance shorter? If not, why not? Remember early on, they were specifically saying wearing an N95 mask was useful, but other masks not.
Also, the only lives being saved by “social distancing” are the ones we could have lost by lack of hospital space when they were overrun with Covid 19 patients. Is the second wave we are in fear of, caused by social distancing and saving the hospital space...when we get out and back to work?
I just think they have not got a clue and are making it up as they go.

Short answer, yes.
None of our rights are absolute. All our rights have limits. What those limits are is pretty flexible but those limits have to have a purpose.
Within the context of our current crisis, it is believed that a deadly virus is easily transmitted from one individual to another and that that virus is fatal.
So a mandate that people stay out of the public square, and if they must go out to keep a safe distance from one and other and wear a mask could be interpreted as a valid reason to limit our rights.
The key point is all these restrictions are limited to the duration of the emergency.
At some point in the next few months all these restriction should have been lifted.

I think the panic and fear that this virus has generated is much worse than the virus.
I don’t wear a mask unless I can’t enter a store or business without one. I’ve been reusing the same surgical mask.
I don’t believe the lockdown has done anything other than prolong the problem. If herd immunity is impossible we are all going to die from the virus. If the lockdown continues for more than a few more weeks, then the number of suicides and drug overdoses is going to dwarf the number of people that are being reported as dying from the virus.
Wearing masks everywhere is not going to stop the virus. The plan by our panicky rulers has gone from “slowing the spread” to utterly destroying the economy.
I’m at high risk on three levels. If I get the virus, and eventually I will, I have a very high likelihood of not even knowing it.
At this point most everyone has probably been exposed to the virus. If not, then it is only a matter of time. You can hide in your bunker, but the virus is going to find you.

You can legally mock them by cutting the top off a clear gallon jug of water and wearing it over your head. It IS A face covering. They were wearing them in Wuhan.
