Tell the Democrat Governors that “Mutiny On The Bounty” was one of my all time favorite movies. A good old fashioned mutiny every now and then is an exciting and invigorating thing to watch, especially when the mutineers need so much from the Captain. Too easy!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) April 14, 2020

I don’t know what Trump is doing hear, but going around and stating that his power is absolute is dumb. Even if it is, stating it in the terms that he did is a mistake. IMHO

After the mutiny, Capt. Blye and the loyal sailors made one of the greatest feats of sailing ever.

Wrong one, the original is better. Charles Laughton was the perfect Captain Bligh.

I remember reading of Fletcher Christian (Brando) and his dandy attire when he shows up at the ship. I also remember MAD Magazine’s takeoff on it. The men were more interested in him than the ladies he showed up with.

I always thought that Trevor Howard looked like Hugh Hefner. Trevor Howard Hugh Hefner

They must have used a ton of tape to keep those leis strategically placed on the ladies.

The leftists shout that President Trump is a dictator. And (oddly) in their second breath that there should be a strong Federal move to combat the Wuhan virus, including the shutdown of the economy (which would seem to give more power to their "dictator".

Then when the head of the Executive branch announces his intention to open the economy in the near future, all of a sudden this Federal program has to be carried by the governors of each state.

Don't they then realize that once the governors open their economies, every single death from that point on is on the governors' shoulders and Trump is off the hook?

Bligh got a bum rap. He was a good naval officer and an outstanding sailor. Rarely has an historical figure been so unjustly maligned.

Mutiny on the Bounty was but one novel in a trilogy describing the event. The other two are Men Against the Sea describing Bligh's incredible voyage to bring the castaways home; and Pitcairn's Island which tells the tale of what happened to the mutineers after they reached their safe haven.

It's a remarkable story. If you want a good read check it out. It's free on the net.

I used to be mildly obsessed with this story. I found the Marlon Brando version absolutely unwatchable. Couldn’t get past the first 20 minutes. The Clark Gable version is a favorite but not accurate. Very Hollywood..but still my fav :). The most accurate of the 3, I believe, is the 1984(?) with Mel Gibson.

I wonder if the governors who want all the power with none of the responsibility are the same governors who were the given highest ‘friendly’ ratings in that Chinese communist party think tank document that Pompeo alluded to in his speech to the National Governors Association?
