Video: Kentucky Church Packed for Easter Service – Governor Sends State Troopers And Nails Appeared To Have Been Dumped At The Entrances To Block Cars From Entering

Republican Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul wrote that his state’s Democratic governor should “take a step back” regarding Easter church service coronavirus measures.

This week, Kentucky Democratic Gov. Andy Beshear announced Easter weekend measures for Kentucky churches and other mass gatherings that included recording license plates of church attendees and turning them into health departments so they can make the attendees “self-quarantine” for two weeks.

“Taking license plates at church?” Paul tweeted Friday night. “Quarantining someone for being Christian on Easter Sunday? Someone needs to take a step back here.”

It seems that the governor didn’t bother to listen to Rand Paul but the people also didn’t listen to the Governor.

Maryville Baptist Church in Hillview, Kentucky drew what seemed to be nearly a full house Sunday morning. A reporter for Louisville’s Courier-Journal captured images in the parking lot … where you could hear the pastor leading the congregation in song.

Kentucky State Police were circling the parking lot of a church that’s packed for Easter service — defying state orders — and issuing warnings, if not citations.

Following Beshear’s license plate order, which applies anyone who attends an in-person church service or any mass gathering, police will refer those motorists to local health departments, which will then order 14-day quarantines – although several attendees told The Courier Journal they have no intention of following the order.

The notifications also say the health department will contact the car owner, and his or her family members, and require them to quarantine for 14 days.

Unclear, if they’re issuing tickets, but the notice does warn the churchgoers they may be committing a misdemeanor by violating the state’s emergency order. Photo below: Troopers have used community connections to speak with pastors to advise that “they can worship while doing so safely and within proper guidelines.” Lawson said it’s been “very non-confrontational.”

Shortly before the service began, volunteers were clearing the parking lot of nails, apparently left there by someone who wanted to discourage the service … which is violating Kentucky’s safer-at-home order. Gatherings of more than 10 people are illegal.

Rev. Jack Roberts had to call for help to clean up piles of nails scattered at the entrances to the church parking lot.

The nails appeared to have been dumped at the entrances to block cars from entering the church that is in the Bullitt County community of Hillview, just south of the Jefferson County line.

He couldn’t control his mouth...saying teachers were increasing child molestation by protesting in Frankfort and other similar things. Right before the election he called for tolls in northern Kentucky which put in the final nail - those counties went blue when they are normally deep red - no way that happens had he just kept his mouth shut. Beshear didn’t beat Bevin - Bevin defeated himself.

And Bevin fully destroyed his reputation with some of the pardons he issued just before leaving office.

That was involving a drive-in service. This was not a drive-in service.

“Bevin could not have been that bad of a governor; how is it that a commie dem got elected to that position?”

The leftwing politics of Louisville dominate the state of Kentucky, just like many other states with large rural populations that are dominated by one large liberal city.

NY, MI, GA, PA, LA, WA, MN, IA, IL, to name just a few.

We were targeted for our parking lot services which we went to in accordance to the Pharaoh of Frankfort’s decree. 10 less in church to conduct service, 6 ft apart and half of the 8-10 left after the singing to their cars. The Bell Co KY Health Depr director called our pastor and said she got a complaint we were congregating. And then started clicking off rather aggressively things we were allegedly doing. The pastor pushed back on most all of it and she only stopped her aggressive tact when he said you are violating our constitutional rights.

He was told the 10 person or less policy was no longer in place, it’s changed. He said it’s CDC guidelines. It’s changed she said. He said can you show me something in writing? No was the reply. Then we were dictated 2 people in church and he said me preaching, one running sound/radio broadcast and one Facebook streaming. NO people in church singing regardless of social distances and again she could not cite source. On top of this now cars in the parking lot had to be 6 ft apart! The pastor said Walmart, Kroger etc... don’t have to do this why do we, we have been staying in our cars and following guidelines. NO came the reply from the health department director! That’s different! He asked how is it different? It just is she said and you will comply with the policies I have stated or KY state police will arrive and cite and quarantine you all. This woman’s husband is a preacher and she’s gone all Nero on us. Her king lives in Frankfort it seems.

No other church in Bell county KY had to follow these draconian, petty and arbitrary guidelines. We can’t figure why we are being singled out unless she, her family or friends didn’t like one of the sermons our pastor preached, he’s very conservative. The congregation is livid and the pastor and deacons are planning on filing a complaint with the KY AG for anti-Christian behavior by the health department director. They have also been offered assistance with legal counsel and the ACLJ. Welcome to the People’s Republic of KY!

From the Judge's ruling

On Holy Thursday, an American mayor criminalized the communal celebration of Easter.
That sentence is one that this Court never expected to see outside the pages of a dystopian novel, or perhaps the pages of The Onion. But two days ago, citing the need for social distancing during the current pandemic, Louisville’s Mayor Greg Fischer ordered Christians not to attend Sunday services, even if they remained in their cars to worship and even though it’s Easter.
The Mayor’s decision is stunning.
And it is, “beyond all reason,” unconstitutional.

The Judge ruled that the Mayor order Christians could not attend a church service even if they remained in their cars was unconstitutional. So it did not matter how the church was to provide the service, the act of attending was illegal. Ok to walk into a store but not a church.

The pastor filed a complaint with the AG of KY and was told to follow CDC 10 person rules and they would be contacting him shortly.
