Something is not right. Too many things do not add up.
Both Covid-19 and the influenza virus are contagious viruses that cause respiratory illness. The flu in America, so far this season, according to the CDC, has caused about 46 million illnesses, 550,000 hospitalizations and about 41,000 deaths. And yet, we have almost completely shut down our economy to the point of approaching collapse because of a comparatively small fraction of Covid-19 cases caused by another virus from China. Instead of preaching good nutrition, a healthy immune system, supplementing with extra vitamins A, C, and D, our political establishment is pushing for lock downs, face masks, and pressuring our president into creating fear and panic. Why?
Why? Orange Man bad. Right now the “Establishment” is leading the Orange Man around by the nose and loving it.

At a local food market yesterday, I was 3rd in line standing outside on the taped line six feet from a woman in front, another woman was 6 feet in front of her (about 10 get let in at a time). Both had masks on. I asked if either 1 was sick. They both replied no. I asked them if they wore masks last year when 80,000 died of the flu? Crickets. I then commented that if they took their masks off, it would feel like a ton of bricks released from their backs...that even when this virus is over, they will have great difficulties shedding the mask. I’m going to talk to mask people from now on.
Oh, you can get it back but it costs.....blood.

I still believe the whole thing is being wildly over-hyped. Is covid-19 dangerous? Sure. Is it that much more dangerous than a particularly bad flu season? Worse than H1N1, MERS, SARS? No, I'm not seeing it. Different, yes. Dangerous, yes. Merit shuttering entire countries? SMH...
The left needed something, anything to attack President Trump with. The collusion thing fell through, the fitness for office thing never got any traction, undue influence, nada. None of the trumped-up (pun intended) BS they've thrown at him has been effective. The field of 'rat candidates was, and is, the weakest and stupidest they've had in decades (and that's saying something). They know they have almost no chance of beating President Trump, that a second term is almost guaranteed. They also recognized that the one thing his was unbeatable on, the one thing that provided a mandate for him to keep pushing his policies forward is (was) the economy. As long as people have money in their pocket and a good outlook on opportunities they're far more willing to go along with the leader that has brought them to this point. "Yeah, what's he's said and done so far has been working...maybe we should try XYZ too..." That scares the {censored} out of the leftists. They're watching decades of their work dismantled in a matter of months. They had to do something, so sling as much FUD as possible and trash the economy, try to take away as much of President Trump's political capital and strength as possible.
Covid-19 is bad, but it is no-where near what it is being made out to be. Notice every time there's a glimmer of hope that it isn't too bad the MSM jumps up with more dire warnings? Trump's numbers not falling enough? "Wait, quarantine *could* last 10 to 12 weeks!" Still not enough? "Wait, it could live 2, 3, 5 days on XYZ surface!" Hmm, not getting enough panic... "Wait, it could be dangerous to 20-40 year olds too, not just the young or the old..." Still not seeing it... "Wait, there's plague in China too!" Not enough. "Wait, those already known long-used, long-prescribed anti-malaria drugs and such...can't use those, they're too dangerous for our bubble-wrapped no-risk society!!!"
The MSM is using the same techniques as they do for the Global Warming BS - the same worst-case projections and possibilities. The same kind of unfounded, over sensationalized numbers.
If you doubt what I've said - and I know there are folks here who do - ask yourself this. What is coming out of the MSM regarding this? Does any of the coverage look hopeful, positive? Anything calming or fear-reducing? Or is virtually everything they're putting out subtly or not-so-subtly making things worse?
I lived thru the Asian flu pandemic. Don’t let the media lie to you. We have had several pandemics in America.
No, it's an easy question. The answer is the media pushed this in their hope that many people would die and Trump would be blamed.

If Trump had said something like we have found a cure for this virus, the press today would say it was found in Shangri-La not by Trump’s medical scientists.
