Thanks to all of you numbskulls who bought a million rolls of toilet paper in the last few weeks, some California towns are experiencing sewer problems because people are using disinfectant wipes, paper towels, and even shredded T-shirts and then flushing them.

Come on - I would say a significant % of FReepers are of the generation you’re speaking about...and others are just plain immature no matter the age! As to the country as a whole - another large % - we are living to a ripe old age...so don’t mess with us!

Sorry, but he's right. As a 15 year veteran of "County Drink and Stink" (Water and Sewer), fats/rags/oil/grease (frog) are the biggest ongoing problems with municipal sewer systems.
Hopefully none of them were hairy trefoil compound leaves.

On the farm in Upstate NY, we used Sears catalogs. My mother saved all calendar pictures and there wasn’t a bare spot on the outhouse interior walls - all walls were covered with beautiful pictures. She saved the left over starch from wash day (Mondays) to paste them to the wall or I should say delegated that job to my sister and myself.
I guess that’s why some of the family or hired hands spent longer than usual in there - dreaming of far away places! Or probably of an inside john some day!!

Xactly. What a bunch of morons some folks are.
I think any small insecticide/lawn food sprayer (a pressurized one with the long handled sprayer) could function as a portable bidet ... awkward perhaps, requiring some interesting gyrations to position it suitably, but it would serve the purpose. A lot of us have these in the garage or basement somewhere ... just clean it out thoroughly first and there ya go!
