This is a hugely important opening monologue from Tucker Carlson tonight especially for conservatives, but actually for everybody. And most of all, for that Fox News watcher in the White House. Straight-up truth-telling right here:
He criticizes unnamed leaders for downplaying the viruss seriousness, but we all know hes talking about Donald Trump. Look at this: same administration, same day:

The people selling panic will be unhappy when this all goes away.
Nope....then it will be hay fever or sunburn.
Or an airplane disappearance, hurricane, celebrity death, military action, etc. Big news stories always bring out the rubberneckers.
Your wasting your breath on the Trump bots who will happily follow their God off the political cliff. South Korea has shown through massive testing and effective quarantining you can keep the CFR under 1%. If you take the Italian approach of reaction you get a CFR of 5%. If this virus detonates over here no amount of bluster or tweets will be of comfort when the news footage is of hospitals overwhelmed. Trump better wake up quick before it’s to late.
You're kidding.
Trump is losing the election right before my eyes with his horrible handling of COVID19.Wishful thinking.
Tucker is just trying to keep his cushy job by pleasing his puppet masters. AKA Paul Ryan
“The people selling panic will be unhappy when this all goes away.”
BUT, they will claim “How lucky we were”. Just wait till next time.
Prepare NOW, spend BILLIONS and BILLIONS of dollars at left leaning institutions or DOOMSDAY will return!
He should be blaming Ryan for doing nothing to bring drug manufacturing back to America.
Go ahead and vote for Joe or Bernie.
I’m sure they’ll take care of you.
Read your own post #26 .....500 more times and tell me who is ... classy!
STFU and go take a cruise.
The hair on fire boosting their egos.
We don’t know all that he and his team are doing. Trump has pulled off a lot of victories from behind the scenes, while ostensibly frittering his time away at foolish fun on Twitter.
(What did our grandfathers do, in situations like this? From all the stories I’ve heard, my father rushed out with many other men after Pearl Harbor, and enlisted. I don’t remember any criticism of the leaders - if there was, most of those men kept it to themselves and carried on.)
No matter what Trump did or how he handled anything, there would be criticism from both sides - he’s had a target on his back from the moment he came down the escalator - perhaps most dangerously from people who were supposed to be on his ‘side’.
We’re in a situation now where we have to ‘dance with the one who brung us’; and we could do a lot worse. Imagine a doddering Bernie, Biden - or Hillary! - leading us at this time.
Similar to Tucker’s Syria moment where he acted like the sky was falling and Trump was getting us into another Middle East War only to see Trump pull out our troops
You know you can catch Wuhan Virus from your keyboard, right? I advise you shut down your computer, stay glued to NBC, ABC, and CBS and do whatever they tell you to do.
We cannot and most of us likely should not stop working, stay at home, and all, but there needs to be more transparency and honesty in all of this. It should be sobering to everyone to understand the scope of challenge: (1) China locked down cities, bulldozed roads, (2) Israel has quarantine for everyone entering country, (3) Italy is under quarantine, etc. This is not typical flu and should not be dismissed as such. Every time Trump says it is, the reports suggest otherwise, and Trump looks bad. Just saying because it needs to be said. He keeps painting a rosey picture, his staff offer more sobering picture. I don't like that disconnect and I think it will get worse if not stopped. Do we really want to risk a Biden or Sanders getting elected?
Carlson is gonna look like a complete idiot when this turns out to be another Legionnaires’ disease, Swine flu, Avian flu, SARS, MERS, etc., scare. And, contrary to what Dr. Van Schoor wrote, like Britain, Italy has socialized medicine and a National Health Service (SSN, Servizio Sanitario Nazionale), which the WHO rates as the second best in the world, so I’d take his comments with a grain of salt as well.
Like you, I agree with one thing Dreher wrote: “If this pandemic teaches us anything, its that we cannot be so strategically entangled with China.” But then, isn’t that what Trump has been telling us for years and isn’t it an issue he’s actually been doing something about - and getting criticized for, no less?
Unlike Obama, Trump imposed travel restrictions to limit the spread of the virus and he’s had cruise ships remain at sea until passengers are tested. How do Lefties react? Travel bans, like everything else in existence these days, is “racist” and “he’s trying to artificially reduce the number of infections for political purposes” or “leaving people on ships to die at sea,” not that he’s trying to LIMIT the number of infections and that they’re flying medical personnel to those ships.
Last week, I found the following article from Cato, which seems to be pretty damned reasonable and a nice diversion from the “We’re all gonna die” approach:

President Trump needs to understand optics. Playing golf is bad optics when the country is overly concerned about the Corona virus (or anything that creates panic).
“Or we can do nothing and turn out like Iran or Italy.”
Or we can do nothing and everything turns out the same anyway.
“Time” will end the Corona Virus, nothing else.
Hey, look at it this way. Maybe, due to the fear of coronavirus, Democrats and RINOs will stay home on November 3rd; I know I won’t.
