After a four-year battle with the state, the proposed Constitution natural-gas pipeline project has been abandoned, as National Grid warns of a coming natural gas supply emergency next Winter.
The State of New York has a natural gas shortage, the result of years of the administration of New York Governor Andrew Cuomo and environmentalists fighting the construction of new supply pipelines.
A June 2019 report by The Manhattan Institute documented the shortage and its causes, Out of Gas: New York’s Blocked Pipelines Will Hurt Northeast Consumers:

Maybe when the natural gas runs out the people in NY will finally wake up and vote the Dems out of office.
Probably not. They will somehow blame the utility that wanted to build the pipeline.
Perhaps they are counting on global warming to heat their buildings.
From what I understand, and under-pressured system (the result of too high a demand) ceases functioning because it cannot develop enough pressure to push its cargo.

That pipeline to bring in NG from out of state. There is an enormous reservoir of NG in the southern tier just north of where PA is drawing from.

As we said back in 1973 during the Arab oil embargo, when there was mandatory allocation from Texas of oil & natural gas to the northeast states:

National Grid should just SHUT DOWN, Dismantle or Destroy all of the Infrastructure they Own and move on. New York can Freeze to Death in the Dark in the name of Global Warming

And that's what they deserve for voting for Democrats. But are New Yorkers going to learn? Of course not. If you're stupid enough to vote Democrat, then you're too stupid to learn from your mistakes. New Yorkers deserve to huddle under blankets in 35 degree or colder apartments all winter.
Excellent news... However, the border wall construction needs to be extended in order to keep the freezing residents safely inside NYC limits...
And the Southern Tier sitting on top of the northern edge of the one of the largest shale gas plays in all of North America. Ideology can be dangerous, even deadly.
