Chrissy is nowhere to be heard on Rush’s bumper music, he is using fair usage laws to jam it in her hynder.
Now she is using the linkage to her advantage
Dont think she had a choice. the law let him use it because the clip is short. saw her say that in an interview. Rush must have given her money to stop the controversy but dont think he had to do it.
Vintage early 80s rock, for sure. Also a good opportunity to change my tagline. :-)
She told that story way back when. I take her at her word. She was pleased that Rush agreed to donate money to animal groups like the Humane Society, but she always mentioned her parents being fans.
And for the record Roger Waters bites the bag
Oh and Chrissy’s Dad was in WWII? Do the math people is she like 87?
Yes , he knows . Her mom was also a fan .
Rush has talked about it and the fact that Chrissie’s parents were fans of his.
“Well, I wish Mr. Assange would reveal who REALLY gave him the information.
I suspect strongly that it was SETH RICH.”
Because of this, he is a tremendous threat to many powerful people. That is why he was trapped inside the embassy for 7 years and will never be allowed to reveal the truth about his wikileaks source.
Not to mention what other secrets that he probably knows and hasn’t been released by Wikileaks.
Chrissie knows bad boys get spanked.
This from Wikipedia is interesting:
The instrumental opening of the song (before Hynde's vocals appear at about 40 seconds) has been used as the opening theme 'bumper' for Rush Limbaugh's popular American talk radio program since 1984, during his days at KFBK in Sacramento, California. Limbaugh said in 2011 that he chose it because of the irony of a conservative using such an anti-conservative song, though he mainly liked its "unmistakable, totally recognizable bass line."
In 1999, Rolling Stone magazine reported that, according to Hynde's manager, Limbaugh had neither licensed the song nor asked permission to use it. According to Rolling Stone, EMI took action after Limbaugh told a pair of reporters in 1997 that "it was icing on the cake that it was [written by] an environmentalist, animal rights wacko and was an anti-conservative song. It is anti-development, anti-capitalist and here I am going to take a liberal song and make fun of [liberals] at the same time." EMI issued a cease and desist request that Limbaugh stop using the song, which he did. When Hynde found out during a radio interview, she said that her parents loved and listened to Limbaugh and she did not mind its use. A usage payment was agreed upon which she donated to PETA. She later wrote to the organization saying, "In light of Rush Limbaugh's vocal support of PETA's campaign against the Environmental Protection Agency's foolish plan to test some 3,000 chemicals on animals, I have decided to allow him to keep my song, 'My City Was Gone', as his signature tune..."
Interesting. I’ve listened to his show on and off since the early 90s. I’ve always thought it was original music he paid to have done for the show by session musicians or someone close to him like Snerdly created. I just listened to the intro and the first verse of the original song but I never hear the part of the guitar solo section that you hear in the bumper music on Rush’s show. I can’t stand her voice which is why I only listened to the first verse. I could listen to the Rush’s theme show sans her voice for hours though.
I found the solo section I like when listening to Rush. it is 2:30 into the song from the link you posted. I’d like this song better without Hynder’s voice or lyrics.
Not much probably. Its called mailbox money (royalties). Last I heard and this was many moons ago, it was around .27 cents a minute. I suppose it can add up, I am not into math at the moment; I just got off work.
And, copyrights only last 50(?) years.
Assange should be exonerated in return for everything he knows concerning Hillarys emails and Seth Richs murder.
Assange has already paid a higher price than anyone from the US media would have paid.
Rush said on his show that Chrissie heard him using her music on his show and didn’t like the quality. Rush said she went in the studio and recorded a new higher quality version for him to use.
