New article pointing out that impeachment wasn't a failure insofar as it memory-holed Trump having mentioned CrowdStrike and the DNC servers and sucked up media attention. Democrats avoided any prolonged discussion of their story of the fake DNC hack, which can't withstand the slightest scrutiny.
In a similar vein, it was cover for The Biden scandals involving Burisma.
Biden never had a chance at getting the nomination, so the damage impeachment did him was acceptable.
It aint over yet.
Maybe something will change after 2020 elections.
I still think the GOP-e spiked the investigation to save Graham and 3 other GOP Senators from being thrown out.
Poor cover for Biden, because it actually blew his campaign up entirely.
if that is the case, after the President is re-elected, we get rid of all four of the skanks.
Still trying to figure out why folks believe that there are physical servers sitting somewhere in the Ukraine.
This makes no sense. There’s nothing that prevents President Trump from posting Twitter messages about CrowdStrike and the DNC server on a daily basis.
Some Awan IT guys and a frizzy-haired Florida gal, too, I recall. Where are they?
It is all a magic trick - watch this hand while the other does its trick. That is why the plan is to get rid of Barr and then fail to confirm a replacement. I am for investigating Schumer, Pelosi, Schiff,Nadler, and all the rest. Let’s really find the crimes.....
Correct. If you start with a bad premise you are just naturally going to reach some foolish conclusions.
We are not through Crowdstrike or Seth Rich.
Colocation Ukraine
Currently there are 32 colocation data centers from 6 areas in Ukraine (Ukrayina).
There's your clues...'cause you really needed them with your comment.
Can you figure things out for yourself now?
Main thesis of article is that CrowdStrike’s story about the Russians having hacked the DNC is incredibly fishy. Claim about Trump’s psychology is mentioned briefly at beginning and end. So even if your comment made any sense, “this” would still make sense.
But your comment doesn’t make any sense. Nowhere in those few sentences at the beginning and the end does it suggest that Trump is so concerned about the DNC servers that he ought to be tweeting about it every day. He’s literally got hundreds of things to deal with, many of them pressing. He occasionally brings the story about the Russians having hacked the DNC into public focus. That’s all that the article claims.
Moreover, apart from being a non sequitur twice over, your claim isn’t even true. Trump’s Attorney General and almost the entirety of the GOP Senate swear allegiance to Mueller and Clapper’s conclusion that Putin helped put Trump in the White House by stealing WikiLeaks DNC and Podesta emails and passing them on for publication. If Trump tweeted about the topic every day or even very often, they would push back and he’d be in a battle over a subject that isn’t pressing with people who generally support him on subjects that are. So, there’s actually a lot stopping him from pushing against this narrative every day or even often.
Totally disagree. Biden’s Grandpa Simpson routine is what blew his campaign up. Ukrainian business just helped it along. Dems weren’t going to nominate a guy who rambles on about black kids playing with his blond leg hairs and calls progressive females “lying horse-faced pony soldiers.” Trump did Biden a huge favor by giving him someone to blame for his campaign that would have been doomed regardless.
But, even with regard to Biden’s Ukrainian corruption, impeachment helped cover it up. The media immediately engaged in a disinformation campaign, falsely claiming that (i) Shokin’s investigation into Burisma had been ‘dormant” when Biden strong-armed Ukraine into firing him (ii) There was no evidence Shokin was investigating Hunter and (iii) Shokin’s replacement was more likely to pursue Burisma (they never mentioned that in the real world he shut the investigation down).
All of these claims are demonstrably false. In fact, the Washington Post repeatedly made them all without mentioning that, before Biden getting Shokin fired became weaponized against Trump, they themselves had published an interview with Shokin proving that everything they were now saying was at least very suspect. (For corroboration that all three claims were demonstrably false, see https://amgreatness.com/2019/09/28/the-press-gang-that-couldnt-keep-its-story-straight/)
If the Dems hadn’t shifted the focus away from the content of Trump’s accusations and toward Trump’s having made them and sucked up so much media air with their hopeless quest to impeach him for having done so, the patent lies they were telling about Biden and Shokin would have been exposed to a much greater extent than they were. Impeachment got people talking about Trump. That was actually good for Biden because it stopped them from talking about the reality of his Ukrainian wheeling and dealing which would expose him.
Other thing impeachment accomplished is full extent of Ukrainian corruption never got a full airing out. Turning everything into questions about Trump stopped people from learning that Biden was just tip of Ukrainian corruption iceberg which involved other Democrats, Washington outfits like the Atlantic Council whose members were quoted saying Shokin was corrupt without mentioning they’d partnered up with Burisma a week after the investigation was dropped, and Republicans as well.
Impeachment, whether by design or not, distracted from the story about that time the Russian’s hacked the DNC which can’t bear the slightest scrutiny, the details about Biden the media were blatantly lying about, and the fact that nitwit Biden wasn’t the ringmaster of Ukrainian corruption but was just one guy too stupid to have done any masterminding collecting his take because he happened to be VP.
All in all, I think Dems did MUCH better by pursuing impeachment than they would have had they not done so. But, of course, counter-factual historical comparisons can never be proven, so YMMV.
Flimsey Grahamnesty will be re-elected for 6 more years, longer than President Trump, unless SC voters wake up and primary him out.
Yes. I think you’re right to question that. I’ve seen no evidence to think it’s true. People site Zelensky’s successor having taken some servers with him when he left. But the idea that we have any reason to believe they were the DNC servers is beyond reaching. Also, it’s not clear what advantage there’d be in moving the servers to Ukraine as opposed to merely bleaching or destroying the discs. Trump must have some reason for mentioning it and he likely knows things we don’t. But I can’t find any evidence that the DNC servers are in Ukraine or think of any reason they would be. Idea seems nuts to me but who knows.
Yes. Think you are right to ask this question. I’ve seen no evidence that servers were taken to Ukraine apart from Zelensky’s predecessor having taken some servers with him when he left office. And it’s beyond reaching to suppose they were the DNC servers. Also, not clear what point there would be in taking the servers to Ukraine when it’s easier to bleach or destroy the disc drives. Trump obviously has some reason for suspecting they are in Ukraine and he has access to info that we don’t. But I can’t find any evidence for the claim. It also seems nuts to me but, who knows? Assuming there couldn’t be any reason for someone to do something presupposes you’ve thought of every possible reason. So doing so is inherently error-prone.
Sorry about double reply. Still getting used to platform and mistakenly thought I’d deleted first one.
