Hollywood might want to start listening to Ricky Gervais it seems like a lot of Americans are.
The British comedian made himself an enemy of the movie moguls but endeared himself to millions of Americans Sunday night when he used his platform hosting the Golden Globes to lecture the glitterati in front of him on what viewers didnt want to hear from them.
If you do win an award tonight, dont use it as a platform to make a political speech, Gervais said on the ceremony aired by NBC. Youre in no position to lecture the public about anything. You know nothing about the real world. Most of you spent less time in school than Greta Thunberg. So, if you win, come up, accept your little award, thank your agent and your God and f**k off.
Those words and others from Gervais monologue didnt make Gervais popular to the crowd inside the Beverly Hilton, but television viewers around the country no doubt appreciated it.
As numbers on social media Tuesday showed, Gervais speech was still a hit with millions of viewers in the hours and days after the ceremony ended.

The pimp my film programs all have to kiss butt and cannot irritate the celebrities With unapproved ridicule.
Can they get him to host a presidential debate among Democrats?
perfect
Bring on the dunking booth!
I bet you half the people that were there are celebrating Iran Bombing US Air Bases and the Democrat Party and the Media were ready to wave the white flag to Iran This Morning. I wouldn’t be surprised if the democrats showed up waving white flags tomorrow.
There were antiwar protests This weekend sponsored by eight different groups of communists. Not of one of them will march this week to protest the bombings by Iran. So much for being anti-war
I would pay money to watch that! 😂
It's called "acting."
Maybe Hanks was pissed? Maybe he wasn't. I don't know.
Point is, Gervais did exactly what he was hired to do, and he's done it before so nobody should've been surprised.
Hollywood knows that award shows have been flopping lately, losing audiences year after year. Perhaps they decided, "let's give the crowd what they want to see!"
Keef looks like a woman with that soft plastic face and fancy beauty salon hairdo.
He could recycle the jokes about concern for climate change in private jets and friendships with Jeffrey Epstein...
I haven’t watched an award show in I don’t remember how many years, but I remember previous Gervais MC gig commented on Robert Downey Jr “...but most of you know him best from either being with you in rehab or the police blotter in the LA Times...”
He’s not a good guy....
Gervais goes after Hollywood every Golden Globe he has ever hosted.....this one wasn’t as bad as some others, but the nature of the attack was different in that it exposed the truth.
Hes a dip shit
Doesnt sound like I think hes a good guy you hired something
“There is a reason why actors use to travel around the country and be forced to camp outside of town. They were seen like carnival folk. Things have not changed.”

Bingo. The locals knew they were immoral prostitutes and degenerates, and didn’t want such debauchery to rub off on townsfolk. Whole lot smarter back in the old days.
This is what I was thinking when I heard about the Gervais monologue.
Through the ages, there have been those who revel in pain and humiliation. Male and female, religious or pagan, in primitive villages and swanky high-rises. They seek the high that comes from abuse, degradation, and public humiliation. It's how some people feel good about themselves - punishment, whether it's giving or receiving it. There are so many eager victims out there!
Juicing the ratings, yes, I suppose - but it's more than that. It's an attack on us - a coarsening of society, that dirty feeling from a forced romp in the gutter.
I'm glad I missed it.
It their minds, it exceeds even the outrageous Judi Dench joke.
