I just want to quietly point out that the $150b was money that was frozen in US banks back in ‘79-80. It wasn’t “tax payer” dollars.
Now, do I think it ever went back to the original owners? Not at all.
Do I think the hostages should have gotten their settlement from that cash? Yes.
