The voa_persian Twitter account which is the source of this claim is not the Voice of America. The real VOA Twitter account is voairan.
It's total fake news, as would be expected for GP, and just because you find other off-brand sites that repeat the misinformation doesn't make it any more true.
All I saw was a rehash of the GP or voa_persian posts.

But I provided sources and figured folks could/would go there...and yet it would appear you did not check them but responded which is OK...but not terribly productive.

NPR and Reuters are mentioned in this article and confirm the story (is that a rehash?)...Nothing about VOA or Gateway...

You joined in the party late...my reply was about fact that a poster dismissed as fake news because it was Gateway Pundit...
I provided multiple posts to you and the person to which I was replying.
I found it on several other sites besides Gateway Pundit...I have neither the time or resources to verify specifically if she is a US citizen, however, I am assuming other news organizations likely do...SO if I see it on multiple sources, I tend to think it is valid...
You are welcom to go further in your research...I just don’t like people posting with no thought or a bias to a source...
