It is not the job of a prosecutor to “exonerate” anyone. It is their job to decide if there is enough evidence to determine if a crime had been committed.

Exactly. However, the media views their role in the process as judge, jury, and executioner. Trial by the court of public opinion is their self-appointed role and they have deemed Trump as unfit from day 1 even as they obsess over his every word and action.
