Whether inherited, purchased or received as gifts you would think most guns are cool looking. The following guns classifies as "ugly", in these ugliness lies the DIY gunsmiths working within their lack of resources. Many early automatic weapons and pistols were designed without a complete understanding of what works, leading to strange and ugly guns that barely worked. Desperate times during World War II led to a need for cheap, easily made firearms, and there wasn't time to make them with clean lines and beauty.
Sometimes, prevailing design fads take over, especially in communist countries, where principles in Soviet architecture led to blocky, metallic-looking firearms many of which didn't work. The ones that did work, almost in any conditions. (Kalishnikov AK's)
Ok, enough talk here you go:
Staple gun
Mac10 Wannabe
Welby pistol
Warner Infallible
The Infallible Pistol was a .32 ACP calibre handgun manufactured by the Davis-Warner Arms Corp during the early 20th century.
Gyrojet Carbine
named for the method of gyroscopically stabilizing its projectiles. Rather than inert bullets, Gyrojets fire small rockets called Microjets which have little recoil and do not require a heavy barrel to resist the pressure of the combustion gases.
Dreyse M1907
The Dreyse Model 1907 is a semi-automatic pistol designed by Louis Schmeisser. The pistol had an interesting feature for the time: when the gun was ready to fire, the firing pin projected through the back of the breech block, serving as an early handgun-cocking indicator. See the rest of ugly guns.
In before someone says Glock.
I did better than I expected at the range last night. (It had been quite some time)
I own a Dreyse.
No idea how I got it.
Probably left over from Dad’s collection...
Hi Point!
It’s a knife! No, it’s brass knucks! No, it just shot you dead!
Apache Revolver.
When the new model comes out with a built-in taser I’ll get one.
Almost anything French.
You had to hurry
Or Russian.
“Welby pistol”
Welby.
Marcus Welby?
I object to the Liberator being on the list.
That Remington 870 with a 14” barrel and a 6 round magazine qualifies as ugly. I think it makes sense as a bedroom gun though.
I inherited two IMP 22sr revolvers. One was kept in a freezer wrapped in aluminum foil and was loaded. That one is almost not functional. The other one is functional but the 22 shorts that came with it are more than 50 years old and look corroded. I don’t plan on shooting either one.
Somebody must have shot Rashida Tlaib with an Ugly gun, point blank.
