Vulnerable Democrats are watching in horror as GOP impeachment attacks deluge their districts back home. And they want a much stronger counteroffensive from their own party and its allies.
Some of those Democrats raised their concerns with party leaders this week as they prepared to leave for Thanksgiving recess, fearing that voters will be bombarded by anti-impeachment ads as families gather around the TV for parades and football, according to multiple lawmakers and aides.
GOP-aligned outside groups have spent roughly $8 million on TV spots this cycle in battleground districts, such as Rep. Anthony Brindisi's central New York seat. The vast majority of those ads specifically hammer Democrats over impeachment.
Meanwhile, swing-district Democrats are receiving little reinforcement from their own party or even other liberal coalitions. Democratic and pro-impeachment groups have spent about $2.7 million in TV ads, according to an analysis of spending by the ad tracking firm Advertising Analytics. And more than $600,000 of that total went to ads targeting Republican incumbents, not helping vulnerable Democratic members.
"Many of us have been expressing our concerns to leadership," said a Democratic lawmaker said, who declined to be named in order to speak candidly about strategy. "You don’t want to have to play catch up."

Organizing for Action launched “Health Care for the Holidays” not long ago urging ObamaCare supporters to “have the talk” with their family Thanksgiving about signing up for health insurance. “It might not always seem like it, but your family listens to you. So have the talk,” OFA advises.
So nobody will be paying attention to the Republican anti-impeachment ads. We’ll all be busy having our stimulating convos about ObamaCare.
They voted for the witch hunt—now it is their time to get burned!

They voted for it, so its fair game and obviously this impeachment stuff is going to play much differently in certain areas of the country than others. I never understood what they thought would happen. You don’t take a shot at removing a president unless you can remove him.

My district is Elaine Luria’s district in VA. Formerly Scott “RINO” Taylor’s district. NO BODY IS RUNNING AGAINST HER!

Asked about the largely unanswered onslaught of GOP attack ads, most Democratic moderates publicly dismiss concerns with the party’s strategy.These guys are all whistling past the graveyard.“That’s probably something for the pundits to decide. I’m just focused on doing the right thing and voting for the district,” Cunningham said in an interview. “People in the First District are smart and they can sift through the fiction and get to the facts and when they do they realize that I’m the most bipartisan freshman Democrat.”
McAdams, another swing-district Democrat who’s being targeted by ads, said he’s working to counter the GOP ads with his own direct pitches to voters in events like town halls.
“They’re negative but you know, I’m out there in person telling my district the work that I’m doing and they know me,” McAdams said. “They’re going to judge me based on who I am and my track record and I think I have a track record that resonates.”
And the Dims don’t have any money, hehe, and the pubbies are swimming in it.
It SUCKS when your party has NO MONEY to fight back and we are swimming in cash because of impeachment!!! LOL, LOL, LOL!!!!!
