The FCC should set standards and pull licenses if warranted. The finances of major media should be scrutinized. What money comes in? From where? What money goes out? To whom?
The First Amendment means I can go to a public park, stand on a soap box and pretty much say anything I want. But to be a Major Media outlet, you ought to have some oversight to ensure honesty. The First Amendment was NOT created to allowing lying to the public.
