MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) Thousands of Minnesotans could be kicked off food stamps under new Trump administration rules.
State officials have until next week to file objections to the plan which will take food stamps away from almost two million low-income families nationwide.
The new rules would disqualify tens of thousands of Minnesota families who earn more than $27,000 a year.
The Trump administration says it could save $2.5 billion a year by ending food stamps in Minnesota for families earning up to $34,000 a year, requiring families be on welfare for at least six months and testing their income and assets.

How many are from Omar’s district?
We went from a 6 figure income
to 36.5K per year. No car payments,
and a reduced mortgage after
being disabled. It’s tough but
doable with proper spending habits.
Got to wait for two more years
before I can retire and the income
will increase a little. I’ve
always had a job and have never
been on foodstamps for 45 years.
Do not think of it as food stamps.
Call it Jizya tax on infidels to support fat lazy Islamic Muslims.
Mohammad was a scammer.
oops, faux pax
I meant Omar
Winning! I am sure most of these people are the somalians that the leftist Bill Clinton shipped in to replace white people.
JoMa
yep!
Since when global warming is all of a sudden not an issue here? One would think cutting illegals and food stamp would avoid us waste. Frankly, the only thing wrong with this program is to not go after people who refuse to work for what they pollute.
I really can’t work. I sit in a wheelchair all day, my fingers are all curled up and my stamina is not what it was. Thankfully, the people of the United States provide for me through the Department of Veterans Affairs.
I’m assuming that this is about Somalis, not people who’ve fallen on hard times.
AOC is the donkey-teeth-looking “I wish THESE were brains” dancing bartender, not the Somali who married her brother.
Somalis. That was my First thought also. There are thousands of them in Minnesota and Michigan.
I know, slight goof on the name(s)
All these s#itheads are in the same bucket of slop for me
First (and only) question: How many of them are U.S. citizens?
My friend did the same thing. She was a single mom, finishing up nursing school, and got food stamps to help her through. For Christmas I had bought her a big bag of cleaning supplies and personal hygiene products she couldn’t get on food stamps. That was decades ago, and she still says that’s the best gift she’s ever got. She is doing very well, has a highly paid position at the Hospital and paying lots of taxes.
That’s what food stamps are for.
