If it seems like the number of complaints from your female friends about not being able to find a man is growing, we may finally know why. Somewhere between 1979 and 2008, Americans decided it was much less worth it to get hitched: the share of 25- to 39-year-old women who were currently married fell 10 percent among those with college degrees, 15 percent for those with some college, and a full 20 percent for women with a high-school education or less.
This great American marriage decline—a drop from 72 percent of U.S. adults being wed in 1960 to half in 2014—is usually chalked up to gains in women's rights, the normalization of divorce, and the like. But it also a lot to do with men. Namely, economic forces are making them less appealing partners, and it ties into everything from China to opioids.

I would say that people, most definitely including women, have become more self-absorbed. We are now the society of 'selfies'. There's no point in spending your life with anyone who doesn't 'get you', doesn't really love you, and who only wants to intersect with you based upon superficialities. That is a formula for a very sad existence.

Off the top of my head...
I know true love, acceptance, shared life, support for my goals and dreams, a warm home, great and healthy meals (I’d probably have overdosed on Waffle House by now), a family we created and built, a heart that wants the best for all of us, a complement to each other in strengths and weaknesses, humor, laughter, shared spiritual life, deep connection to each other on multiple levels, and knowing the best person I’ve ever met at a deep level.
My current favorite eatery in LA is a Polish restaurant- the food is great but the ladies are why I go. I think they know it
To those men wanting to marry, listen up.
As soon as you get married you are already in debt you just don’t know it yet. You are better off buying her a house a car and jewelry BEFORE you get married. Then have her kick you in the nuts for an hour. That’s what happens in the divorce. Might as well get it over with because most of the time that’s how it ends.
I never had kids but I know plenty of men who have literally been raped financially by the courts.

It’s women who have become unmarriageable, men are just responding to that. Meaning no disrespect to men who have found wonderful women and have great marriages, the vast majority of young women in the U.S. today are self absorbed and are far too risky to trust your life to. The illegitimate birth rate is now 40% in the U.S. which means a huge number have eliminated themselves from being marriage material right there, and most of the rest of them aren’t any less promiscuous, they’re just better at using birth control. A man who ties himself to one of these women is risking everything he’s ever done with his life, I’ve seen too many successful men have their financial lives destroyed because their wives decided they wanted to play and the courts decimated the men to fund the wife’s new lifestyle.
I’m 51 and divorced my cheating wife 5 years ago. I was one of the lucky few that didn’t get raped by the divorce court but it could easily have gone much differently. A middle aged single guy with a pulse and a good job will have women chasing him like you wouldn’t believe, I was shocked how the dating scene changed since my 20’s when I had to do the chasing. I have no intention of getting remarried, it’s just doesn’t offer any advantages for a man in the current culture and legal atmosphere of the U.S.
