A rising wave of homelessness is growing and spreading in the major Democrat controlled cities on the Left Coast. Spreading disease, drug addiction, and social disorder in its wake. From Seattle to San Francisco to Los Angeles the quality of life is plummeting. Democrat municipal and state authorities seem oblivious, placing the rights of the homeless above their duty to their citizens, taxpayers, and public safety. More than 60,000 homeless people by official count are living on the streets of Los Angeles. That doesnt include the surrounding municipalities and cities in Orange County. Actual estimates are much higher, and the homeless seem to be everywhere.

——The cities are gone...——
That is so obvious to any person with half a brain...
The first dem who tells the fearmongering climate alarmists to stuff it and tell them the GND is a waste of money and address this issue with a Marshall like plan might get some traction...
The info in this particular blog post was pretty dang relevant to what’s going on in our country and put a whole lot of pieces together.
I found it useful.
I also find it obnoxiously annoying when someone self appoints as a content police and comments negatively on every thread that has blog content, useful or otherwise.
Isn’t that what mods are for?
This is Mr. Robinson’s house. If he doesn’t want blogs here then fine. No arguement. But someone trolling just to troll is a troll.
"Journalist"?
How about self-appointed journalists?
Ones that steal material and try to score traffic for it?
Ones like that?
Me too.
Did I need a Disclaimer?

You guys ever see that clip of Trump 4EVA? Check it out - it's absolutely hilarious!!:

But... isn't that exactly what you are doing?
How does that work?
Aren't you objecting to a post because that post objects to another post?
He, like all other bloggers who post excerpts, are only interested in clicks and impressions revenue. They post excerpts here to drive traffic to their sites to make money off the visitors to this site.
They post their material to this site not because we're kindred spirits, but because they use this site to cast a wide net to put as much money into their pockets as possible.
But someone trolling just to troll is a troll.
Notice how the original poster (jeb184) has not responded to a single comment? That's the mark of a real troll. He's trolling for FReeper dollars.
I see a pattern, your here to harass people who post creative content, because old sour puss cant do anything creative himself.
The only thing you create is off topic discord. Take your meds.
Kamala Harris was author of Prop 47, which made citation misdemeanors, out of former felony violations.
t further reduced prison/jail counts.
Overall these measures contribute to homeless and drug addicts on the streets.
Ask cops. Watch “Seattle is Dying.”
Politicians and LEO are conducting experiments, for how much “mainstreaming” into our communities, the residents will tolerate.
The police cite the passage of these lax, feel good libertarian policies.
Don’t be too hard on HG. HG always makes sure that he dons his hat, badge and uniform before he logs onto FR. He is doing an outstanding job as the Director (albeit self-appointed) of the FR Protocol Management Service.

That observation is over eight years old. Eight years in the history of the Internet is an enormous amount of time.
Things have changed. They have changed in very significant ways.
What are called "blogs" have become some of the best sources of analysis, commentary, and even news, that exist.
What used to be called "reputable news sources" have been recognized as some of the greatest purveyors of falsehoods, "fake news" and the creators of misleading, even evil, narratives.
What are called "blogs" do much service in pointing out the falsehoods and exposing the evil, misleading narratives.
Does Jim Robinson have the same opinion, today?
The term "Blog" is used flagantly, misleadingly, and promiscuously.
Ammoland, one of the biggest commercial sites for news, advertising, content to do with firearms, ammuntion, and the Second Amendment, has been called a "blog" on this forum.
As for reach, Ammoland almost certainly far outclasses Freerepublic.
Perhaps a new terminology is in order.
“TRUMP,
FOR EVER.”
Not the same “Ring.”

The tactics of so-called 'bloggers' who use Free Republic only as a source of clicks and impressions income has not changed.
They create a new account. (This OP's account was created May 28, 2019) A short while later, they add excerpt their own article, then ignore all replies to the thread they posted.
What used to be called "reputable news sources" have been recognized as some of the greatest purveyors of falsehoods, "fake news" and the creators of misleading, even evil, narratives.
As you well know, that's the purpose of FR. To become a clearinghouse of news with commentary by knowledgeable readers to cut through the 'fake news' narrative. It's kind of hard to do that on a random blogger's web site.
But, let's be clear. The only reason why a blogger posts an excerpt to their own copyrighted material is to drive traffic to their site and the main reason isn't to disseminate news.
It's to mine FReepers for clicks and impressions ad revenue.
I have no problem if a good blogger wishes to impart useful info for our readers and then joins us in discussing it.
