BREAKING: General Flynn fires legal team…

A court filing Thursday revealed that Flynn had notified his attorneys Robert Kelner and Stephen Anthony that he is “terminating” them as his counsel and has already hired new lawyers to replace them.

(Reuters) – Former U.S. national security adviser Michael Flynn has dismissed the legal team that represented him in his dealings with Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia probe and retained new counsel, according to a court filing on Thursday.

The move to dismiss lawyers Robert Kelner and Stephen Anthony of Covington & Burling LLP comes ahead of Flynn’s sentencing, which was postponed in December after the judge in the case criticized a memo filed by his lawyers to the court.

“As only sentencing remains in this case, sentencing has not yet been scheduled, and General Flynn has already retained new counsel, withdrawal at this time would not be prejudicial to any of the parties or otherwise inconsistent with the interests of justice,” Kelner and Anthony wrote.

Covington & Burling is Eric Holder's firm.
I wonder if Flynn's lawyers were sand bagging their client??

Never understood why Flynn hired the law firm Covington & Burling in the first place. It is closely tied to the Democratic party. His attorney’s could have had the charges dismissed within a month or two. Instead, they worked against his interests and milked him for everything he owned.

I suspect Flynn’s new attorney will have this case dismissed in short order and then sue the previous attorneys for the fees they charged.

We’ll see. I assume that Gen. Flynn’s lawyers are going to demand Flynn’s former attorneys’ entire litigation file, including all communications with Mueller’s team and the judge. Their is bound to be stuff in there they don’t want to release.

Flynn may accept a return of all the fees in return for not getting the entire file.

I just have a feeling he wants this sentencing foolishness over. His attorneys keep kowtowing to the DOJ attorneys who want to keep him muzzled.

And his own attorneys were part of the plan to set him up. Flynn knew too much about the corruption in the Deep State intelligence agencies, so they conspired to get rid of him, no matter what the cost.

"How does that get him another 6 months from sentencing? What is your source?"

I'm guessing the new lawyer will have to have time to familiarize himself/herself with the case. I doubt a Judge would veto any extension under those circumstances.

I could never understand why Flynn did NOT fight this travesty.

It didn’t take much to see that those charges were BS with a capital S.

Flynn was doing his job and yet NOBODY came to his rescue.

THAT needs to be investigated.

Maybe this will get Weissman disbarred..Please, Please...

Given what we know now, he should sue his prior attorneys for incompetent defense. Seems like they employed the bleed them then plead them tactic. I estimate it cost him something like 250-400 K.

As to whom, DO NOT pick an insider group again. DeGenova would be fine but he is busy making the rounds on TV. Weisenberg would be fine. Problem is, does he have the cash to pay now. If he has to go to the pro bono route, Dershowitz may take it up as a civil rights violation.

Maybe one of his lawyers should have told him at the beginning he was innocent.
