Since I’m retired, I use Boost pre-paid. Meets my needs.
All those things are what brought me to Verizon. I used to have AT&T. The grass isn't always greener....
Read about Xfinity mobile. Best deal I know of. Sprint shafted us royally and I hate their guts.
The only one available here is Verizon. Before they put up a tower 3 or 4 years ago, this was a dead zone.
I have to say it has been very trouble free.
Been using Virgin Mobile for a couple years. No complaints...
Is it just around your house? That was the case for us and I got a network extender which connects to your Internet service and makes your house a cell tower. 4 or 5 bars in and all around the house. Threaten to switch and they’ll give you a discount. Ours cost 175. There’s no monthly fee.
I have a Moto G7 that uses Straight Talk (the wal mart carrier). They buy bandwidth off both T-mobile and Sprint. Never had a problem - $45 each month.
I use Metro PCS $30/month, no internet. It is just fine for city living.
Verizon has the best coverage for rural areas.
I shopped around recently and decided to stick with Verizon. I’ve been with them a long time and had only one outage, not long ago.
Another reason I stuck with them is because I got a good deal on a couple of phones for me and my wife.
We've had very good luck with Verizon here on the East Coast but even their coverage map shows uneven coverage in the West.
it really all depends upon where you live ... Verizon is actually the best carrier in our area ...
I got Straight Talk from Walmart. It came with 4 SIM cards from the major carriers. I tried Verizon but ended up going back to ATT. It was just a matter of calling them and requesting the change.
Also ask around and see what everyone else is using in your area and ask how they like it.
When I was in Maryland, Verizon sucked. In Florida its great. I think it depends on location.
I believe (read somewhere) that the carriers all share towers and in most cases bandwidth in various locations outside of the urban high-density areas.
Verizon leases from Sprint who leases from Verizon, etc.
You have to watch the coverage areas and verify you’re not “roaming” to a carrier not under a bandwidth lease contract. Sprint is notorious for this outside of the metro areas.
Charter (the old Time Warner) uses Verizon’s towers and has an unlimited talk text and data for 45 dollars a month. It is new and there are not many kinds of phones you can bring over, but the service and price are excellent.
It depends on where the cell towers are in your area. If At&T is closer then go with them. If Verison then go with them.
I know some will dislike this because it’s Google, but I switched from Verizon prepaid to Google Fi with a Moto G.
It’s a flat rate plan with a variable data component that has an upper cost limit. I get equal or better service than I had with Verizon for less cost. My company reimburses me for cell service, so I get to keep the extra.
I’m in a rural area and the multi network feature seems to work very well for me.
But it’s Google and I knew the ramifications going in.
Virgin Mobile is cheeeeap and decent aervice. No contract.
I have been w AT&T for a long time, never had any problems, everything works well.
Keep in mind that the discount carriers buy coverage from, most likely, AT&T or Verizon. They have limited speed and other compromises, which is why it is cheaper. If you don’t need a lot of fast data, it could be a good deal.
AT&T and Verizon in a lot of areas are comperable. In other areas, one has better coverage than the other. I use Verizon and get good coverage in the eastern U.S. but I was visiting a large city in Texas a couple of years ago and I got poor coverage.
