Thanks, 2AM. I didn’t have an official EO ping list, but I guess I do now.

So far it’s the people in the To: list. Anyone else?

For bruising, I use a blend of Lavender, Frankincense, and Cypress (5-8 drops of each) in a 10 ml roller bottle filled to the top with coconut oil. Put it on immediately and the brusing is much less.

LJ, I'm starting out with the basics, and we'll see where we go. Now it's frankincense, which is BIBLICAL. Frankincense is so important that it gets a nickname: Frank.

Thank you for recommending this. I forwarded your advice to my granddaughter, she has chronic stomach pains. Doctors cannot find a cause, all her tests are negative. Told her also she might be lactose intolerant and to switch to almond milk which her mother can make at home.

Thanks, 2AM. I really whacked my knee a couple of weeks ago, rushing past an IKEA Poang ottoman. I put lavender (only) on it, and the egg-style bruise went down to nothing in a couple of hours. I'll try your mixture next time.

An interesting resource for EO folk knowledge is http://oil-testimonials.com. There, people share anecdotes about oils and blends that successfully achieved certain effects for them.

This evening, after watching part of a documentary involving the use of bee venom for Lyme disease, I checked Oil Testimonials to see if anyone had had any success with EOs in Lyme disease. The search pattern I used was "lyme site:oil-testimonials.com". Sure enough, people have had (anecdotal) success with multiple different mixtures of oils, after terrible experiences with regular medical approaches. No guarantees, but perhaps worth more research.

The documentary that inspired this search was part of the new Netflix series (Un)Well, a somewhat balanced look at various alternative wellness methods, including EOs, tantra, ayahuasca, and bee venom. They present the successes that many people have achieved with such methods as well as some of the risks and unethical behavior that exist in the alternative medicine world.

I haven’t read through the whole thread yet, but Frankincense would be a good skin one.
That may have been mentioned already.

Good to meet you, DrewsMum.

My 783 talks about frankincense, including its beneficial effect on skin. Frankincense may be the #2 go-to EO, right after lavender. Those two are what I run through fastest, with peppermint a close third.

Another Oil Testimonials find is the "morphine bomb". People seem to think this is very effective for chronic pain.

My 60 y.o. brother has lots of aches and pains. He played football in high school and worked in the oil field services industry for decades. The coup de grace is when he had a head-on collision between his Chevy Caprice and an 18-wheeler going the opposite direction in the same ice rut. Since he retired last year he's done yoga, massage, rolfing, and even had two guys walking on his back at the same time to work out some knots. He's doing a lot better, but he still has some aggravating neck pain.

I sent him the materials for the morphine bomb and he tried it this week. He says if it's not the oils then it's the best placebo he has ever tried. He's very happy with the results, and even has his Chinese wife (an amateur herbalist) using it for her aches.

Yea I saw that RIGHT after I hit "post" on my comment. Of course. Lol Thank you, I am so tickled to have found this thread. I've researched a lot on natural meds over the years, and still feel like I know very little, ...especially after reading through some of the comments here. I am excited to go back and catch up on the thread. Feels like I just got a new book to read. 😁

I did some Oil-Testimonials.com research on migraine because it came up on another thread the other day. What I found was a huge variety of oily approaches to migraine, reportedly successful for the individual who reported each combination. Here's a sample of the non-proprietary solutions: There were also a number of solutions incorporating Young Living brand products, Apparently most of the contributors to Oil-Testimonials are YL users. The evidence shows that there is no consensus oily solution for migraine, though peppermint is the most popular, followed perhaps by lavender and frankincense. If you're interested in digging deeper, here are two searches you might find useful:

I can’t thank you enough AZ.

Research like this already compiled is invaluable.

Now this migraine( husband tries to cheer me and calls them mybrain) has passed it is time to accrue supplies and get ready to test in home trials.

Of course I always pray another will never occur but eventually it does happen unfortunately.

Hugs
Cats

The book Essential Oils of the Bible has a section on migraines. After defining what a migraine is, it suggests three approaches: It's odd to me that none of these include peppermint. The first mention of peppermint in the book says, "This essential oil relieves depression and mental fatigue, fights stress, and eases away migraine and other headaches." Since peppermint is a "driving oil", one might want to layer peppermint on top of the others to make them penetrate faster.

If you have Amazon Unlimited, the book is "free".

Had no idea about the ginger or the cayenne AZ. Thank you so much. I have the liquid cayenne. Sometimes I put a drop in my coffee in winter time. For warming up. Now I will try it at onset. Makes sense now due to affect on blood vessel.

Ginger oil I rub on bottoms of my feet. Never used on forehead but will now.

That isn’t the book I have.

One I have is this one
