When an interview surfaced this week that brought Sen. Cory Booker’s vegan lifestyle to the forefront, it seemed like the New Jersey senator would be forced to do the first damage control of his nascent presidential campaign.

Iowa ranks as the No. 1 pork-producing state in the nation, after all, and the state Farm Bureau reports that 95 percent of Iowans eat meat at least weekly.

**SNIP**

Booker is already looking ahead: He told “The View” this month that while he won’t be eating pork chops on a stick at the Iowa State Fair, “There will be lots of deep-fried stuff that I will be able to eat.”

“I think that whatever you eat is a very personal decision and everybody should eat what they want to eat. That’s America. That’s freedom. Here it’s live free or die,” Booker said, referring to the state’s motto. “The last thing we want is government telling us what to eat.”

Uh, oh. He obviously didn't get approval from the Mooch. She's gonna have something to say about this.

Democrat Party hacks say many things which they don’t mean, and run on positions which they have no intention of pursuing.

“Farm Bureau reports that 95 percent of Iowans eat meat at least weekly.”

The other 5% don't consider anything but beef to be meat.

vegan? will he check to see the frying oil is not animal related? nothing using animal milk or egg as part of the breading procedure? no cheese in anything unless it’s non-animal based?

I highly doubt he is truly vegan.

Hey, Mickey D’s fries deep cooked in lard were the best there was before they went PC.

Booker will soon be asking, “Whar I go to gits me a huntin’ license?”

“Whatever works for him.”

What ‘works’ for him is that the we must all go vegan to save the world.

Does that work for you?

His brand of meat eating is no-cal, and allows him to continue to claim he’s a vegan.
