The real goal behind the failed Panera Cares experiment.
Get woke go broke
Oh, was this a “pay what you feel it’s worth” social experiment?
synopsis?
Why socialism has to be enforced at the point of a gun...
Generations who have been indoctrinated into ideas of dependency on government, forcible redistribution of the earnings of their fellow citizens, without requirement of anything in return, cannot be expected to be responsible and accountable when receiving the benefits the elitist government entity who took it from their fellow citizens, bestows upon them.

That these people are actually dumber than we thought.
I personally hold he opinion that most socialists aren’t complete cognitive idiots, but that they live in an idealistic headspace of oblivion that precludes them from acknowledging reality and common sense. However, this guy actually stating the beginning that this is an ‘experiment in humanity’. Which is exactly the kind of focus you would think you wouldn’t have, since socialism flies in the face of human nature. Most people are not going to work if you give them to option to survive and keep things without working, and most people are not going to pay for things that they can get for free. Anyone who doesn’t know this is living in a humanist idiopathy
Panera is liek Starbucks...everyone there is a poser.
Gee that's shocking. /sarcasm
Liberals don’t think. They only emote. They are immune to logic, facts and the lessons of history.
So we reach our happy ending Rich and poor can now embrace Once the cash is not a problem Happy endings can take place...
- The Threepenny Opera
What keeps us from utopia is that cash is always a problem".

Agreed- the bible talks about the masses being deceived and believing that lies are the truth (They exchange truth for lies), and they, like all the people i n the room when God wrote on the wall, couldn’t see the truth right in front of them- they couldn’t ‘read the writing on the wall’ in otherwords
We look at them and think “My goodness, how can they be so blind’ but the bible actually called it- The Evil One- the Father of Lies- is their leader whether they actually actively pursue Him or not- He has blinded them- they think they are wise in their own eyes, but God laughs at their ‘wisdom’
[[Most people are not going to work if you give them to option to survive and keep things without working,]]
Exactly- the people making all the money only to have it taken from them and given to deadbeats are NOT going to keep working so that deadbeats don’t have to
No Way No How is that fair! and it has failed every single time it has been tried- and for good reason- the rich get screwed and the deadbeats hit the jackpot-
[[Most people are not going to work if you give them to option to survive and keep things without working, and most people are not going to pay for things that they can get for free.]]
Precisely- Why work when you can sit around drunk or high all day watching TV and eating junk food- then go out and play on your expensive toys- who wouldn’t want to play all day living the high life and not having to work for it? (at least until the cookie jar becomes empty)
Employees seem like normal people doing normal jobs. They make excellent sandwiches, salads, soups, and desserts.
“Poser” - huh?
They make a really good butternut squash soup.
Nearly a decade ago, Panera Bread launched its nonprofit, pay-what-you-can Panera Cares program with the goal of expanding it to every city in the country. It was a "Pay what you can afford" model and college students looking for free food killed it.But the fast-casual chain will shutter its last such cafe, a store in Boston, next week, according to a statement from the company emailed to Restaurant Business. It will join already-closed pay-what-you-can cafes in Dearborn, Mich.; Portland, Ore.; Clayton, Mo.; and Chicago.
"During its six years in operation, we served meals with dignity to everyone who walked through our doors," the statement said. "Despite our commitment to this mission, it's become clear that continued operation of the Boston Panera Cares is no longer viable."
Under the Panera Cares model, each menu item was posted with a recommended donation. On average, consumers ended up paying 85% of the suggested price, according to company reports.
Panera founder and Executive Chairman Ron Shaich told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, upon the closing of the Missouri cafe last year, that the nature of the economics did not make sense.
Nevertheless, Shaich called the pay-what-you-can stores a success.
We served probably a half-million meals through this cafe, all at no set prices, as a gift to the community, he told the newspaper. We loved it, it worked well, it proved that the idea would work.
How could selling food at a serious loss "not make sense"? The Executive Chairman and Founder is just an evil white capitalist trying to make exorbitant profits at the expense of the proletariat. Off with his head for shutting down his "free food experiment."
Only a died-in-the-wool true-believer would call a near ten year experiment that lost money hand over fist a "success."
Thanks for posting this. I hadn’t heard of this young lady before. She really impresses me — another budding conservative millennial superstar!
The Panera arrangement wasn’t socialism because buyers didn’t have money involuntary taken from them.
You can’t fix stupid. History books are full of all the places where socialism failed. The fact that illegals are leaving socialist states south of the border by the millions is more proof. It’s not rocket science.
The food is not bad but $15 for lunch is a bit much.
Jut like $5 for a cup of coffee at Starbucks.
No thanks.
