Israel/Gaza
An escalation of the rocket/counter attack daily between Hamas and Israel is increased talk once again about a ground operation into Gaza. The exchange overnight/yesterday was no where near what it was a few months back, so why the talk. Most likely it fuels support for Netanyahu’s election campaign. Many Israelis are getting tired of daily rocket attacks (albeit a few rockets at a time). Hamas, OTOH, is getting fired up by Netanyahu’s discussions about annexing about 1/3d of the west bank. That could stick in the craw of any ‘peace’ plan put forth by Trump. Monitoring to see if this is just election rhetoric or actual plan for the west bank area.

Iran/Israel
The “secret” base Iran is constructing on the Syria/Iraq border isn’t so ‘secret’ any more (not that it ever was). Expect Israel to level it shortly - as they have so many other facilities. By doing so, Iran would be humiliated once again and shown to be powerless to stop Israel. economic conditions in iran are not the greatest and throwing money at successive ‘bases’ that just get blown up isn’t helping matters.

Venezuela
This hot spot has been under the radar of late. Now there have been reports of Madura moving military forces once again to the Colombian border region in “support of the Colombian people”. In response the Inter-American Treaty of Reciprocal Assistance (TIAR)was invoked Wednesday at the Organization of American States (OAS). Not sure how froggy Madura is for starting a war with VERY limited soviet support and an economy in shambles, probably more posturing and distractions of the civilian population to view an outside threat to be greater than the internal threat he is.

Saudi Arabia / Iran

URGENT
Rumblings across the osint world -
1. The blame for the attack has been clearly set on Iran inspite Houthis claims . Strong questions of launch point of drones. Some claim Iraq (Iran has numerous affiliates set up as anti-ISIS militias that could have had the drones smuggled to.
2. Drone used is reportedly a Quds 1. This is essentially a cruse missile - far more advanced than a drone.

Because of the tremendous economic hit on Saudi Arabia retaliation against Iran is almost certain. Reportedly Saudi Arabia is to spend 2 days “investigating” the attack. Some have interpreted that as when a retaliatory strike could occur.

Likely target would be Iranian oil facilities in the gulf. It doesn’t take rocket science to see how the conflict could escalate quickly causing a global oil crisis.

No word of US military movements. The US is reportedly in full support of Saudi responses. Israel could take advantage of the situation with strikes of its own. Europe is relatively quiet about things.

I’d make sure my gas tank is full.

Gulf update

Looks like Saudi Arabia is showing a yellow streak. SA has been known to very privileged and unwilling to really get down and dirty in a real war. So their backing off from Iran is not surprising.

Iran’s attack appears to have been designed to enter through the back door to the oil facility. the drones/cruse missiles reportedly traveled southwest (across Kuwait then south before turning north and striking the target. ADA radars were reportedly scanning for attacks coming off the Persian gulf and not optimized for this back door.

SA counter attack targets would include Kargh island - iran’s main oil shipping and docking facility.

US involvement is on hold - basically its SA and their allies immediate fight and they need to pony up and not expect the US to do all the heavy lifting. The pentagon is reported to be presenting various options to the President that can be implemented with or without coalition support. While potent, the carrier task force and marine amphib task force would be hard pressed for a full scale counter attack by Iran. Expect to see more assets positioned in the region before things get really hot.

The “Perfect Day” and our terrorist opponents’ possible plans for future attacks

I have been told (by those conducting interviews with captured enemy combatants) that when we ask them “What is coming next?” they sometimes refer to the “Perfect Day.”

You cannot understand what they are talking about if you do not understand the historical reference. - The Sepoy Mutiny in India, in 1857, is an example of a Perfect Day.

This was a spontaneous uprising by Muslims (and Hindus), with everyone giving the British their “best shot.”

Nannies killed the kids, cooks poisoned the food, and shop owners murdered the British ladies as they came into the shop. - And soldiers (sometimes complete units) killed their British officers and then used their weapons to attack the British.

The current politically correct term for the Sepoy Mutiny is “The First Indian Rebellion.” (You can look it up on Wikipedia, where the event has been completely PC filtered and revised.)

The First Indian Rebellion is, to them, George Washington, Abe Lincoln, and the Alamo all rolled into one. - And 99% of Westerners have never heard about it.

In their dreams and fond imaginations, this is what will happen across all of the “Crusader nations” who are in Afghanistan. Pick a day, and everyone gives it their best shot.

If just one in 1,000 of the Islamic people in our nations answer the call to Jihad, it will still be thousands of attackers … Some will opt for a “John Muhammad/Malvo,” whacking people from the trunks of cars, others for a Virginia Tech lone gunman in the school.
Others will attack school buses, nannies will kill the kids, clerks will kill customers, cooks (in the elementary school?) will poison the Kool-aid, etc., etc.

The enemy thinks big, and we (with wishful thinking compounded by ignorance of their history) keep thinking small. The goal of this Perfect Day, in addition to terror, is to make us imprison (intern) our Islamic populations (as we did to the Japanese in WWII),

thus making this a “war against Islam” instead of the current war against terrorist groups and Islamist fundamentalists.

The idea of the Perfect Day goes way back in their culture...

Alabama: Muslim Auburn University student says he would execute US soldier if ISIS ordered him to do so

Yet no one at Auburn, or at Southern Union Community College, would have dared ask Nayef Qashou what he thought of jihad and the Islamic State. That would have been “Islamophobic.”

“Terror suspect living in Auburn attended Opelika’s Southern Union Community College,” by Elizabeth White, WRBL, September 19, 2019:

LEE COUNTY, Ala. (WRBL) – Startling news settling over the east Alabama community as a dual Jordanian and United States citizen living in Auburn and attending school in Opelika is arrested in a Federal terrorism probe.

FBI agents took Nayef Qashou into custody on Monday, and he appeared in Montgomery Federal Court later this week after being indicted and charged….

FBI agents allege Qashou lied to FBI agents and destroyed evidence in their terror probe while asserting Qashou allegedly told agents he would execute a U.S. Soldier if the Islamic State Group ordered him to.

In a newly unsealed affidavit, the FBI says Qashou arrived in the U.S. through Atlanta’s airport in 2015 and made his way to Opelika to go to school. The FBI interviewed him more than a dozen times over the past four years before making the arrest this week after he was indicted.

News 3 has learned he lived in Auburn and took general education classes at Southern Union Community College from 2016-2018

The FBI claims he used encrypted phone apps to communicate with suspected terrorists who told him he should carry out an attack in the United States.

AUBURN AL. (WRBL)– An Alabama man arrested in a terrorism probe was a student at Auburn University. FBI agents took Nayef Qashou into custody on Sept. 16. Qashou appeared in Montgomery Federal Court earlier this week after being indicted and charged with lying to the FBI and destroying records….

Qashou, a dual Jordanian and United States citizen, was living in Auburn and had previously attended Southern Union Community College from 2016-2018.

Gulf Update

Saudi Arabia was seriously embarrassed by the Iranian cruse missile attack on its refinery. That is likely the hesitancy to launch a retaliatory strike.

In addition to trying to organize global (read EU) support, the US is deploying additional Patriot batteries to cover the blind spot exploited by Iran. A missile destroyer has also been redeployed to provide additional cover. Iran is savoring their good luck and that SA backed down.

Monitoring US response to China’s 400 billion dollar sanctions breaking deal with Iran. Could result in retaliation by Trump with increased tariffs and other sanctions.

Iraq/Iran
The green zone has come under renewed rocket/mortar fire. The likely culprits are Iranian backed militias emboldened by SA’s lack of reprisal. Other Iranian backed militias were recently hit by airstrikes, Israel being the most likely candidate.

Israel
The dead heat elections have the current government at a hold. This hold has caused Hamas/Hezbollah to scale back their attacks. Probably for two fold reasons. Any major attack would likely shift public opinion to Netanyahu and second, could prompt Netanyahu to order ground operations, extending his leadership under a state of emergency/war.

India/Pakistan
More chest beating and mean words with minor skirmishes along border so Kashmir

Venezuela/Colombia
Nothing really hitting the radar screen. Likely a lot of bluff and bluster by Venezuela.

Pakistan: Muslim kidnaps 14-year-old Christian girl, forces her to convert to Islam and marry him

The objective behind these cases, which are growing increasingly common, is to expand the Muslim community at the expense of the non-Muslim community. The Islamic community should always be growing, and the non-Muslim community always shrinking. It’s an inherently Islamic supremacist imperative.

“A 14-year-old Faisalabad Christian girl is kidnapped, forced to convert and marry,” by Shafique Khokhar, Asia News, September 25, 2019:

Faisalabad (AsiaNews) – Samra Bibi, a 14-year-old Pakistani girl, was abducted by a Muslim man, Muhammad Ramiz, forced to convert to Islam and forced to marry him in what is but the latest in a long series of kidnappings and forced conversions of underaged minority girls, often obtained under threat and after sexual violence.

Robin Daniel, president of the National Minorities Alliance of Pakistan, says he is “unable to understand why these girls are treated just like a commodity, why they are not brought to court?”

“According to the law, no minor girl can be converted to any other religion but here no one has courage to challenge the radicals who are committing such crimes,” he told AsiaNews. Samra is the daughter of Munir Masih, a Christian from Rasulpura, near Faisalabad. On 16 September, whilst her father and brother Shahzad were away for work, she was taken away by her abductor and four accomplices.

Her brother saw her as she was being taken from the house and forced into a car with the kidnappers, but failed to reach the car before it sped off.

When Munir Masih went to the police station to file a complaint, police officers refused to file a report for two days. Instead, the investigative officer, Abdul Rasheed, used abusive language against him rather than take action to secure the girl’s safe return.

Only on 18 September, following the intervention of leaders of the local Christian community, did police start to hear witnesses.

Munir complains that “Muhammad Ramiz had long set his sights on Christian girls and teased them. When they told him to stop, he used abusive language against them. When we were not at home, he abducted our underage girl. About ten days have passed and no one has been arrested.”

Here is a possible motive:

“O you who have believed, fight those adjacent to you of the disbelievers and let them find in you harshness.” (Qur’an 9:123)
But of course Swedish authorities, like authorities all over the West, know that such passages of the Qur’an never, ever incite Muslims to commit acts of violence against Infidels. Only the greasiest of Islamophobes would ever dare think otherwise.

“Sweden: Military-aged Somali migrant arrested for assaulting 21 people,” by Arthur Lyons, Voice of Europe, September 22, 2019:

Police in Sweden have arrested a 22-year-old Somali migrant who is suspected of carrying out several unprovoked assaults against women in Eskilstuna this month.
The military-aged Somali migrant first was brought to the attention of police after several women in the area had reported having been hit in the face and spit on by a “very dark-skinned man” who was traveling on a bicycle….

On Friday, the man was arrested on probable cause for a large number of cases of abuse and fraud, and making illegal threats, Fria Tider reports.

‘The bicycle man’ is believed have attacked at least 21 people since last summer. Most of his victims are said to have been women. Police were able to arrest him following his most recent attack on September 17th.

According to the arrest report, the man is 22-years-old with Somalian citizenship, and has required an interpreter in Somali. Prosecutors say that there’s reason to believe that the migrant will continue to commit crimes.

The motive behind the attacks remains unclear.

Weekend evaluations while the rest of the country/world fixated on the impeachment circus . . . . .

Hong Kong
Reuters reported that China has quietly increased its security police stationed in HK from 3000 to 12000. This while protests continue. Warning - Tuesday is the 70 anniversary of communist china. Any protests could result in these forces (and those prepositioned on the mainland adjacent to HK) to take action.

Saudi Arabia/Iran
Saudi Crown prince indicates that SA has blinked following the Iranian attack on its oil facilities. Over the weekend he stated that SA is not planning any military response but trying to work out other pressures on Iran.
SA militarily is a soft country. Its citizens get oodles of money from oil and have no desire to get their fingernails dirty doing anything. To engage in a regional war with Iran would force them to put up and the crown prince knows they are too soft to carry out such a war without extensive support from others to do the heavy lifting.

Somalia
US and EU forces were attacked in the Lower Shebelli Region.

Israel
Netanyahu is struggling to put together a coalition government with his chief opponent. This is a perilous time that Hezbollah/Iran and Hamas could potentially exploit if a vacuum of leadership occurs. If they are unable to put a coalition together, the chances increase that a third election will occur, a possibility that the electorate finds unsatisfactory.

Venezuela
Maduro maintains control because he still has the support of his military who are on the top of the list to obtain benefits. Indicators are that Russia is influencing him to loosen up on economic controls to permit some capitalism and Madro was also advised to let anyone leave the country if they wanted to, but to strictly control who could get back in.
Seems he is trying to pilot the country back to supporting him over Juan Guaidó, the last legally elected Venezuelan official. At best his efforts will result in a Cuban style government and economy. South American countries are not thrilled with the potential of an oil rich Cuba clone on their front door. However, Madro shows no signs of being smart enough to restore the oil economy without substantial assistance (read Russia and/or China).

Trying to sort out stuff -

N Korea
Nk television playing the threat to ring Guam with rockets again. This represents a serious change in rhetoric by Kim and potential indicates they aren’t getting their way with recent short range rocket launches. US is still poised to intercept any attempts but trump could see this as an act of war. Rocket transjectory would have them passing over SK and Japan.

Iraq unrest
Nationwide unrest just doesn’t happen spontaneously. Current Iraqi govt is corrupt - but when hasn’t it. Iranian supported militias seem to be lying low but bet they are pushing things behind the scenes.

India/Pakistan
Lots on news on the potential loss of life in a nuclear exchange but I don’t see current conditions supporting that level let alone a conventional war.

American Maoists Building Support For Mexican Revolutionary Movement: Huge Implications For US National Security

The United States’ main Maoist organization, Liberation Road, is developing support networks for Mexico’s ruling leftist party MORENA and its leader, Mexico’s socialist president Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador (popularly known as AMLO).

Liberation Road sees Mexico under its present leadership as a major force for the revolutionary transformation of the United States. With a population of around 128 million, a communist Mexico, sharing a 2,000-mile border with this country, would become a national security nightmare of epic proportions. America’s Maoists are working hard to make that nightmare a reality.

According to Liberation Road’s newly formed Solidarity Project with the People of Mexico:

“México, more than any other country of the world, will influence our struggle in the US for transformational change from imperialist capitalism to socialism. Will the US succeed in maintaining Mexico as a vassal state? Or will México point the way for US social movements to gain governing power?”

Liberation Road is the new name for Freedom Road Socialist Organization (FRSO), a national communist formation formed out of the various Maoist splinter groups of the 1960s, ‘70s, and ‘80s. The name change—instituted at a completely unpublicized national congress in April—ends years of confusion. Another group also calling itself Freedom Road Socialist Organization, centered around FightBack! magazine, split from the main group in 1999. All future references to FRSO in this article refer to the larger FRSO/Liberation Road formation.

Egypt: Friends fear that family of ex-teacher of Islam who became Christian may have killed him

The death penalty for apostasy is part of Islamic law. It’s based on the Qur’an: “They wish you would disbelieve as they disbelieved so you would be alike. So do not take from among them allies until they emigrate for the cause of Allah. But if they turn away, then seize them and kill them wherever you find them and take not from among them any ally or helper.” (Qur’an 4:89)

A hadith depicts Muhammad saying: “Whoever changed his Islamic religion, then kill him” (Bukhari 9.84.57). The death penalty for apostasy is part of Islamic law according to all the schools of Islamic jurisprudence.

This is still the position of all the schools of Islamic jurisprudence, both Sunni and Shi’ite. Sheikh Yusuf al-Qaradawi, the most renowned and prominent Muslim cleric in the world, has stated:

“The Muslim jurists are unanimous that apostates must be punished, yet they differ as to determining the kind of punishment to be inflicted upon them. The majority of them, including the four main schools of jurisprudence (Hanafi, Maliki, Shafi’i, and Hanbali) as well as the other four schools of jurisprudence (the four Shiite schools of Az-Zaidiyyah, Al-Ithna-‘ashriyyah, Al-Ja’fariyyah, and Az-Zaheriyyah) agree that apostates must be executed.”

Qaradawi also once famously said: “If they had gotten rid of the apostasy punishment, Islam wouldn’t exist today.”
