If President Donald Trump's Twitter feed is the window to his thoughts, everything he says there should be taken seriously. So the fact that he has now on three occasions over the past month and a half threatened to "close" the US border with Mexico means he is thinking seriously about it.
Border agents temporarily closed one port of entry, in San Diego, over the weekend when frustrated migrants rushed the border. They also shot tear gas to break up the crowd.
The next morning Trump reiterated his "close the border" threat and added the word "permanently."...

we saw what happened when Trump closed one border entry point for 6 hours.
Mexico stepped in and deported 150 immigrants out of Mexico.
No border with the US, and Mexico will get rid of the immigrants.
We’d soon run out of sombreros, refried beans, tacos and illicit drugs.

Stop all WELFARE , Snap Cards, BOO - HOO Payments ...etc., for at least 5 years.

Don’t get me wrong, if Trump sees a need to close the border to get their attention, have at it!
But don’t think it will be a picnic here, they now do a LOT of manufacturing and we’ll have a lot of spot shortages...so just be ready for that!

Well, for starters, CNN would lie about it.
Actually I don’t know, actually.
The closing of the border would hurt the United States. The closing of the border along with stopping of all wire money transfers between the nations would devastate the Mexican economy along with refusing to buy their oil exports and produce. Today we are almost self sufficient in oil and the Mideast will be delighted to make up any shortfall. Oddly if the Mexican oil industry continues on its present path (production is declining rapidly) and ours continues on its path we may well be exporting oil to Mexico in a few short years.
Mexico is holding a “Full House” in this game of poker. Trump is holding a “Royal Flush.”
Mexican truckers would have to pass their load off to U.S. truckers, like it used to be ?
