I recently spent some time at the Special Forces Decade Association Headquarters, talking with a few generations of our finest.
There were some serious allegations about the first woman to pass the Special Forces “Q,” Assessment and Selection Phase course, recently. If these allegations are true, they represent to me significant corruption, ethical and leadership failures, and potentially serious future problems.
What I heard was this: the Assessment and Selection Committee Sergeant Major resigned his position in objection to what his NCO Cadres were ordered to accept.
The Cadre of the Assessment and Selection Committee were ordered to sign non-disclosure agreements to prevent anyone knowing that the woman in question was in fact non-selected by the committee for several glaring performance failures.
She failed in her peer review ratings during “team week;” she failed the land navigation phase by being too close to the road (she was “road kill” more than once—and “once” is failed), and she didn’t find all the points required.
However, despite non-selection by those charged with and authorized to pass candidates as qualified, Major General Sontag, the J.F.K. Special Warfare Center and Schools Commander, personally intervened and changed the evaluation—thereby reversing the Cadre’s findings.
During an after-discussion , those who spoke with knowledgeable sources made the point that it was entirely possible that a qualified woman candidate would be able to make it through without changing and lowering the standards applied to all equally.
If the above alleged facts are true, the manipulation to reach a dishonest result will affect the high standard of pride and moral of the men and future women who have and will succeed in receiving Green Berets.
This PC crap is the stuff that will get our brave MEN killed. She either performs at their level, or goes home. This PC garbage has to stop.
Why would someone want to graduate under pretense? How could they feel proud of being a Green Beret?
When America gets its comeuppance on the battlefield it will be brutal and posted for all to see on the web.
Gonna get their showcase women killed even faster....
Also, from a couple years ago, the women undergoing training got more sleep and food than the guys did. (and still only 2 "passed")
To understand why the military allows this corruption, you only need to know of their dependence on the wimps in congress for their funding.
Some people are assholes.
A huge part of the inertia is career advancement for female officers. Not on the part of the military itself so much but of the political apparatchicks and civilians who resent the overwhelmingly male dominated upper echelons of the military. They don’t want the women to live the life, they want the jewelry and fast track for plum flag officer spots.
They are going to get people killed
That "passing" would be a snapshot in time, and the woman would have be trained to an extreme peak to pass if standards were not lowered. The problem for women is that they don't have naturally produced steroids like men do that give them an innate advantage...testosterone.
Men can reach a physical peak and stay there far longer then women can with less strenuous training. As soon as a woman stops intense training, her conditioning will fall off faster than a man's does, so she would have to keep exercising at a much higher level to keep her anywhere near the bottom level of physical fitness held by the bottom tier of men in Special Forces.
This is not a knock on women, it is a statement of fact.
It is unrealistic and dangerous to place an expectation that women will be able to do this without lowering of standards, and the lowering of standards is inherently dangerous.

We went through this same crap in 1980 with the infamous CPT Katy Wilder. Any of you Brothers remember that debacle? The PC crowd are doing the same thing in Ranger School. When will these “Perfumed Prince” Flag Officers learn.
Don’t think the real Green Berets are going to want them in their outfit. I know I wouldn’t if they don’t measure up.

More to the point why become something one cannot perform adequately as? For reasons of personal survival if no other. This person as a team leader would be a great example of what most of us in uniform have heard ,’You will get yourself and your squad killed or captured.”
Story sound just like the one that was attached (without as many details) to the 32 year old mother of 2 that passed Ranger school ...
