Ocasio-Cortez has praised Pelosi for reinstating the special committee, even though she wants it to have far broader authority to craft legislation remaking the U.S. energy grid.
“We need to act on climate change NOW w/ a *fossil fuel $-free* Select Committee *with a mandate* to draft a Green New Deal,” Ocasio-Cortez tweeted earlier Thursday. “It’s our best chance to beat the clock.”
Pallone declined to comment on what happened during the closed-door meeting, but further explained why he opposes the select committee.
“My fear is that if you have a select committee, by the time the select committee gets going, gets appointed and hires staff that it might actually delay what we’re doing,” the New Jersey Democrat told reporters. “We’ve got people who are in charge of these committees who are very progressive and I just don’t see the need for the select committee. I think it may actually delay what the progressives are trying to achieve.”

Of course Ocasio-Cortez has bought into the global warming scam, I would expect no less. Given her track record of making statements so wildly incorrect they have tremendous entertainment value, and the fact that the global warming scam is built on falsehoods and misinformation... This is a marriage made in heaven. I can’t wait to hear the foolishness, ignorance, and just outright lies she spews on this topic in the coming two years...
Good point. Reminds me of a youtube video I saw about ten years ago of some rich guy stepping into his brand new “entry level” helicopter for the very first time. He gets about twenty or thirty feet off the ground, loses control, and crashes quite violently. I believe he and his passenger died.

I just heard the climate goons say we have 12 years left to save the Earf. Assume that and all they believe is true. That is not enough time. The little girl is not nearly as aggressive as she should be. The only way to save the people of the earth from Catastrophic Climate Change is a high speed rail line to Mars. Rocket ships hold far too few people. A high speed rail line is our only hope. She should be consulting with Governor Moonbeam Brown on the details.

One of my mother’s cousins was a high-ranking aide to Ed Koch when he was in Congress. At the same time, Bella Abzug was also in Congress - and for those not familiar with her, she made Maxine Waters look both bright and courteous. Well, one day Koch put a bill into the hopper, but a rumor started that Bella had put it there - and the bill never even saw the light of day. The rest of Congress, even her fellow Dems, hated her so much that they resolved to give her NOTHING in the way of accomplishments to campaign on. Not long afterwards, she lost a bid for re-election. I suspect that the Congressional campaign committee didn’t give her the time of day, let alone any money.
I see the same kind of future for Occasional Cortex if she keeps pissing off people who’ve been there a lot longer than her.
