During a panel segment on Thursday's 'Morning Joe' on MSNBC, co-host Mika Brzezinski asked Jim VandeHei of Axios about comments the president made in an upcoming interview about his supporters demanding harsh rhetoric against the mainstream media, and related something the president told her when they were still on speaking terms:
MIKA BRZEZINSKI: "...He basically admitted to us that he doesn't read. He can't read. He takes things in mostly through hearing it, through watching it, through listening to it, through being a part of it. He has a command of playing the media. That is his sweet spot. That is exactly where he's comfortable because he can use evil ways of manipulating people's thoughts, their beliefs and tapping into racism with his command of the media."

The Left continues to baffle me. In this instance Trump is an evil svengali like person with supernatural abilities far beyond mere mortals. Yet in the same breath he is a simpleton who doesn’t, cannot read and, by implication, unable to intellectually grasp the higher truths that Mika and her friends are privy to. So Mika is not only an intellectual snob, she is unable to capably describe Trump’s “shortcomings” in a logical manner. So who, actually, is the ignorant one here Mika?

It must be so embarrassing to be continually outmaneuvered and outwitted by an ignorant illiterate...or maybe he’s not? Trump doesn’t use the language of an intellectual, but he seems to have a gift to git’r done when the brains are still forming committees. Substance over form i.e. no pant crease to admire unlike Obama.
My comment just below yours is very short but I tried (and failed) to craft a longer comment that makes your point. You nailed it. Trump is simultaneously a genius who out thinks the media and also a dummy who doesn’t understand anything nearly as well as the elitists who run the media. Talk about cognitive dissonance!

The fault is way beyond whether the assertion is truthful or not. The assertions aren't even syntactically meaningful.
They have broken the human brain, they have upset human cognition by removing language from any contextual reality.
They have inverted the Turing test for artificial intelligence. What comes out of the human mouth is now indistinguishable from random sentences generated by a computer.

It’s the same old thing they’ve been using forever. Remember how George W. Bush was a complete imbecile because he occasionally misspoke or prounced something a little differently? Reagan was either senile (years before it actually became true) or a pleasant idiot? Gerald Ford was a stumbling, bumbling fool? Republican Presidents, in general, don’t have sense enough to come in out of the rain and probably can’t tie their own shoes.
A Democrat President can talk about visiting 57 states, can say “corpse-man,” and err, umm, ah, err ad infinitum and he’s still the smartest man to ever occupy the office.

Was she talking about president Trump or Dr Evil? They continue to accuse him of racism but I haven’t seen or heard him say anything racist. Liberals accuse you of racism when they can’t handle the truth.
It's been a long time since I did any reading in Linguistic Theory, but this is actually a really good observation.
I've lost track of where Noam Chomsky falls on this divide, but some researches think that the inherent neurological structure of our brain pre-disposes us to have language with certain inalienable characteristics. Other researchers think that the dynamic evolution of language over time has re-shaped basic human cognition and thinking patterns. Or perhaps a combination.
I think the Left gave up on "Truth" and "Objective reality". They seem to believe that things just are whatever they want them to be. This goes against Aristotle's idea on Identity which Ayn Rand constantly referenced: "A is A". For the Left, "A is A and also B and sometimes it's C as well, depending on how we feel. And Eleventy-thirty is my favorite number."
The Left has made language meaningless and now they can't think straight. This is probably an actual psychological problem for many people right now. No joke. This could be a serious mental health issue. For millions.
So Mika thinks that a guy who turned a $1 million loan into a multi-billion dollar fortune CAN’T READ?
Now we know: you can look up the term “F’ing moron” in any slang dictionary, and be confident that Mika’s ugly mug is right there as the prime example of the term.
Wouldn’t it be great if we can win both houses and watch the RATS go completely out of their minds?
