Today my wife and I were sitting in close proximity to three gay men discussing President Trump. They were all over the place about the attempts to impeach him and were holding out hope that his business dealings would be found to conflict with his official duties. While they hoped that would result in his impeachment, they certainly didn't know what the succession to office entailed. They didn't know who would replace him under the 25th amendment but I got the impression they assumed there would be a special election.
The conversation then took a remarkable turn when they conceded that all previous efforts to get rid of the President have failed. One volunteered that a heart attack or stroke was their only hope. That brought a response of unsubdued glee from the group.
I just couldn't help but reflect on the concept that "tolerance", "inclusion" and "acceptance" was primary in their agenda, but not their politics.
Yes, she’s feisty. She just said it as a matter of fact, too. It just came out. Lol
There are variants. I knew an Irish Catholic gay who didn’t hate God, but hated himself instead. The conflict was constantly tearing him up. He wanted to be straight but I guess was too scared to try, and knew the homosexuality was wrong, so he was merely chaste instead, which I guess was the best of his options.
LOL, I used to have a great aunt who was completely politically incorrect and had no filter on her mouth.
She was in her mid-eighties, a pencil thin, square jawed Irish woman who smoked so much that everything in her house had a yellowish nicotine tinge to it.
She has been gone many years, but she still inhabits our discussions...heh, I remember my dad saying gently to her “Aunt Sally, you can’t say things like that.”
To no avail...:)
“God love her” as my aunt Irish would say.
They’re dear ladies.
Irish aunt.
Hahahahaha!
Seen here on FR a while back: “Tolerance is the virtue of believing in nothing’’.
Tolerance (in leftspeak) only ever works one way.
Truth must tolerate falsehood, but falsehood is never required to tolerate truth.
If I was there I would have been laughing out loud, making sure they heard me.
Unlike Clinton, Obama and Biden, Trump was fine with Gay Marriage before he was Elected POTUS with the caveat that it is a States Rights Issue, which of course it is.
It's certainly a good thing ... if one is tempted to commit a particular sin the first thing is praying for and accepting God's grace to not commit that sin.
So “intolerance” isn’t just an exclusive position of straight people. Imagine that. I don’t recall seeing stories about “Gay Intolerance” in the papers or on news shows. Wonder why? Guess I’ll never know. /sarc
No one has yet to offer any evidence that Trump is anti-gay.
If Trump is no longer president before his term is up, Mike Pence would become president.
That is precisely my point. They acted like there would be a bernie/hildabeast do-over.
Do you know why the Irish Catholic preferred sex with men, as there is no homosexual gene?
The same way most homosexuals are created - he was raped as a minor by one and it messed up his understanding of sexuality in ways he could not later fix, even though he recognized the problem clearly.
Oh, my!
Just FYI if a male is homosexual it’s a fairly safe bet to assume they were raped as a child by a pederast.
I’ve also heard many women become lesbians after being sexually molested as a child. Hate of men, I gather.
Pre-existing conditions?
