Lotta good news (and a little bad) for the GOP in this multi-state survey from CBS and YouGov but none better than the Florida gubernatorial numbers. Probably no single outcome next month will have more consequences for the 2020 election than who ends up in charge of Florida. A poll taken a few days ago had Ron DeSantis ahead for the first time in two months, which seemed suspicious. Was that really the start of a trend towards Republicans or was it just an outlier? Gillum had led in every one of the 18 other polls taken since September 1.
But maybe it is the start of a trend. The last four surveys of Florida have gone like this: DeSantis +3, Gillum +1, Gillum +5, and now Gillum +1 from CBS/YouGov. Theres every reason to believe the race is tightening in the home stretch even if DeSantis hasnt yet grabbed the lead.

Few people vote in the midterms without a half decent idea of the major candidates. I think as less interested people start to understand Gollum, they decide to vote—for Desantis. Gollum isn’t picking up many. He has the sjw crowd that brought him the nomination. That’s about it.
Scott and Nelson will bring out partyline voters.
Do you remember Marion Barry?
So, with the election a little more than a week away, the pollsters have to begin their march toward credibility.
They need to a closing case of what that would do to our Florida economy.
***************
If Gillum is elected he will kill the goose that is laying golden eggs. He would promote higher taxes, more government regulations, higher crime, and lower employment. Florida would never recover.
Marion was the mayor, not governor.
In other words Gillum will MONKEY AROUND with what works :)
Trump coming on the 31st...hoping he will drive it home! Trump has a lot to personally lose if this a Gillum wins.
Mom and Dad voted for DeSantis and Scott...
If decency prevails over party this is going to be a crushing rejection of Demon leadership.
Hurricane smurricane. They come fairly often but an election like this comes once in a lifetime.
Our people will find the polling places and vote unabated.
I don’t believe any poll showing Sinema leading in Arizona - not after all the insults she’s hurled at her own state and not after evidence of her extremism have come out.
Nor do I believe polls showing Gollum/Nelson ahead in Florida. Republicans are showing up to the polls in both states in larger numbers than Democrats. I don’t know about Independents in Arizona, but I suspect they are like Independents in Florida - they typically lean Republican.
I notice he didn’t mention Montana. That’s another red state where Tester had previously held a thin lead but so far Republicans have been showing up to vote in much larger numbers than Democrats.
And LOL! at any notion that Bredeson leads in Tennessee after he lied to the voters in claiming he’d have voted for Kavanaugh - which his own staffers admitted (ie that he was lying/pandering to voters), and after he flew to NYC to lick the boots of Gun Grabber Michael Bloomberg for cash.
I voted here just south of Tampa, took my elderly parents yesterday and my wife voted today.
All four of us straight Republican ticket. Don’t get me started on the Amendments, they are starting to get stupid.
My mother is still registered Democrat but hasn’t voted “D” in a long time. So there it at least 1 Democrat that voted in Florida, but it really goes into the (R) column.
The media here is shilling hard for Gilium but I have to think that the seniors here in Florida are going to be the key to saving our bacon. People don’t just retire to Florida because of the weather, the tax climate is pretty good too. If you like not having a state income tax....
HUG A SENIOR - - then run to get the mothball smell out of your nose.
Ha ha ha ha really? So the 100K Republican lead in early voting means nothing, the FBI investigation of Gillum’s criminal activities means nothing, the Hispanic Shift means nothing and the 1.465 MORE Republicans than Democrats who voted in the primaries means nothing?
Go away.
I won’t, but stay mad.
Washington, DC does not have a governor. Mayor is as close as you are going to get.
They’re aiming at statehood, make no mistake.
allahpundit is the perpetual eeyore.
There are a lot of amendments because this is 20 yrs since the last opening of the State Constitution for amendments. Its done every twenty years.
