This morning, when I was in my apartment (which does not face the street) and I heard a very long succession of sirens from emergency vehicles going by, I suspected that something really horrible had happened, and the only possibility that entered my mind was either a bombing or a mass shooting at one of the nearby synagogues.
With large crowds of people, including large numbers of women and children, all together in an enclosed space, I’d thought for years that something like this could happen. But I never thought it would happen.
They still haven’t published the victims’ names, pending notification of their families.
I’m 47, and I’ve lived in Squirrel Hill my entire life. I’m hoping for at least another 47 years in this neighborhood. It’s too bad some scumbag deprived at least 11 of my neighbors from living out their lives. I don’t understand why anyone would do this.

I cannot comprehend the sort of mad hatred that leads to something like this. Against people you’ve never met, never did anything to you or anyone you know and, whom you know only as an abstraction.
Churches and synagogues need armed security these days.

Pure evil. But some schmuck on Fox was making apersions on ALL, OF US for this. Alluded to how anti-semitic it is for us to criticize Michael Bloomberg for his anti gun efforts and trying to buy ycongressional races.
Now I'm afraid of copy cat shootings on other synagogues. This is all part and parcel an offshoot of Antifa and other civil unrest, encouraged greatly by the dummocraps and their idol, Odungo. Now more than ever, I'd love to see that destroyer of America swinging from the first available lamp post. Are you happy, Maxine Waters? Does this fulfill your public request to inflict violence on innocent white people? Are you happy Corey Hooker? Are you happy Eric Holder, was this violent enough to answer your public call for violence? You are all as guilty as this fiend with the gun. And I'd purely love to see any and all other scum politicians who called for violence against innocent white people swinging alongside their idol, that cancer against America Odungo.

I do have to wonder why there was no Security of any kind in this day and age. I don’t understand why nobody in the Congregation had brought up the need for some kind of plan be it an off duty LEO or Members of the Congregation.
I’m not trying to blame anyone here except the SCUMBAG that did it and the leftist politicians that egged this kind of behavior on.
When We went to a different Church for Christmas Eve Late Service here in NC I went prepared with the 1911 loaded with a full Mag and a round chambered plus 6 spare Mags for a total of 50 rounds just incase. I was happy to see a local City Officer dressed out in Uniform standing in the foyer. I was unsure if there was going to be any Security there so I came prepared.
