The word with Liberals is PROJECTION -- a personal story.

Posted on 10/14/2018 8:45:57 AM PDT by BEJ

Everything liberals accuse the right of doing has been done by them: collusion with Russians, mob behavior, lack of civility, being dictatorial, lying, etc. The list is endless. This is can also happen on a personal level with liberal friends. Here is my story.

I went to my liberal friend for a couple of drinks and to chat on a Friday night. Another liberal friend of his dropped in. Conversation naturally turned to Trump. Over the course of discussing Trump voices were getting louder and I was finding it hard to speak with two voices shouting me down. Then my friend stood up and I started to stand up when he came toward me, jumped on top of me with his hands around my throat and screaming "YOU ARE OUT OF CONTROL!!!" I finally wrestled him off and circled around the room shouting at him, "You're a F****** moron!" And then he screamed "Get out you TRUMPSTER!!!" and starts to cry a bit (maybe realizing he lost a friend). I shrugged and left.

But what struck me was that he had to come across the room to shut me down from saying anything because in his mind "I was out of control." The fact was that he lost control of the argument and then felt he lost control of the situation to the point where he had to physically act. This is projection on a person level.

I'm curious if anybody has a similar story they would like to share.

I’m guessing this liberal friend also lies, and doubles down? They always do.

You actually did the right thing.

Never be an enabler, instead act assertive like you did.

Later in life, with gained experience, you can passively “push” people, so that others can get in touch with their hidden rage. Especially in a public place, where it is safer.

Moderate it. At some point quit escalating. Once they see what anger is within them, that is a chance for change. Just do not let it get out of hand. If it does, just withdraw and leave.

That is the best thing you can do for many people. Push them into the discomfort zone.

Their entire lives others enabled their dysfunction and avoided pushing them where they should be.

Life needs more people like you. It truly is the essence of living. It is only by butting up to the limit of others, that growth spuirts occur. Just always remember the escape hatch is there and don’t get catch up in personalizing and attaching to a quirky situation.

Back in the service one of my bosses was a staff sgt that would identify us with various aspects of life.

He was 100% wrong on everything. I was a young man but learned within a few months that he was projecting his
way of thinking to what he believed we were thinking.

BTW, he was an idiot.

I don’t have any close friends who are leftists/liberals/dems/commiepukes.

Why?

Because they support everything that is Evil, or they are just totally uninformed shallow thinkers. I don’t like to have close friends who support Evil or are shallow thinkers.

And I agree with posters who said you should file a police report.

Suppose the other one decided to jump you at the same time? You might not be here to type out your story.

> I grew up with Monty Python, but didn’t know.

There are a lot of Monty Python references used here.

My tagline, for example.

Speaking of liberal friends, I live outside Ithaca, NY which is arguably the most concentrated collection of insane liberals anywhere (though Portland OR comes close). I simply DO NOT discuss politics in public. It's not only a great way to lose friends, it's outright dangerous.

I do not have a CCW permit. If I did, I might be willing to discuss politics in public, since then I could defend myself against the raging lunatics. But I don't have any desire to have to use firepower against anyone over something so stupid as their liberal mindset. So I don't carry, and I don't discuss politics.

Meanwhile, may I suggest you make a Profile "About" page for yourself. The more we know about what's important to you, the less likely you are to get tweaked about being a troll.

For hints on what to put there, you can check out mine, or Delta 21's, or Chode's (who lives not too far from me).

Oh yes, Dems, libs and other assorted lefties do a lot of projecting. Just listen to Hillary’s latest diatribe.

“”I would love to see us return to civility,” Hillary Clinton told CNN’s Christiane Amanpour on Tuesday. Unfortunately, she added, that won’t be possible until the Democrats return to power. “You cannot be civil with a political party that wants to destroy what you stand for, what you care about,” she said. “That’s why I believe, if we are fortunate enough to win back the House and/or the Senate, that’s when civility can start again.”

The Dems want to destroy the GOP, the west and America and institute a world order, kind of like the Muslims want to do. So the Dems can’t be civil with anyone who opposes their desired agenda, until they destroy the opposition and beat them back into meekness and docility. Hahahaha! I don’t think that is going to happen. People are waking up, our leaders are waking up and verbal confrontation of irrational lefist verbal attacks are starting to happen. The GOP needs people training conservatives how to assertively, without violence and threats fight back against Dem, lib and leftist verbal assaults. We need to learn words that make sense to say when the left is hurling irrational notions at us. I think some of our senators did well answering back to the protestors during the Kavanaugh hearings.

“His hands around my throat and screaming...”

A person who does that is feeling boxed in, trapped and unable to settle down. It is a rush of testosterone and self-doubt.

The solution is to exercise and pray regularly. Otherwise the emotional rushes will increase and happiness will decrease.
