The first time Donald Trump tweeted about Africa, he agonised over white people. After watching Fox News coverage of the South African land debate last week, the President of the United States instructed his secretary of state to look into the large scale killing of farmers. Followers of Peter Duttons nine months tenure at Australias home affairs ministry will recognise the lie, peddled by the alt-right, that black South Africans are targeting white farmers. As the Guardian reported in June, farmer and farmworker murders are at a 20-year low.
But for white people living in every settler state, theres an awkward question that translates from the Americas to Australia to South Africa to Canada and beyond. How did land become private property, and is that property legitimate? Land struggles, it turns out, might be a way of teaching racists a bit of history and geography.
For as long as the modern state and corporation have existed, indigenous people have faced annihilation as they defend their land. According to Global Witness, last year saw a record 207 indigenous activists killed from India to Honduras while resisting mining and, above all, agribusiness industries. In order for the supplies of palm oil to continue uninterrupted, the indigenous people who live in suitable forest find themselves an impediment to profit....

What color are ya? Because only brown, black, red, etc people can be indigenous. They lived on all the lands of the earth for millions of years in peace and prosperity until all of a sudden White People came to Earth in a spaceship or time machine or something and oppressed the hell of of ‘em all.
You see, White People never lived anywhere on earth, thats why they’re not “indigenous”. They just showed up and started taking stuff from the others.
This is a /s history lesson ;-)

It appears the The Manchester Guardian read in a lot of their own hatred of President Trump in this crappy little piece of BS 'news'... Shame on Raj Patel ... and his thin skinned skinism.
The Boer farmers came to the region LONG before the immigrant tribal people. They ARE original dwellers in the region, turning a desert into fertile cropland... by hard multigenerational work. Came in the 1600’s. The Zulu tribes btw, point this out to their enemies in the ANC communist/marxist usurpers of Zulu lands. The Zulus KNOW this, and state it- as do the Boer’s about Zulu expansionism, from tribal land needs. It’s all in the history being rewritten by the current commie regime that Mandela started.
POTUS forgot momentarily..Black Lives Matter...

Raj Patel sounds like he reallllly hates white people.
Native Americans — down to their last three hundred casinos.
But if they can find thirty eight Liz Warrens, they will have a native American in the White House.
the manchester guardian is one-bit leftist rag with a circulation of only about 100,000, and yet i see it posted at FR at least twice a week ...
I claim we are the indigenous people. The indians invaded and stole the land from us. We just took it back.
I’m sure the Guardian (a Marxist piece of shit if there ever was one), downplayed the murder of white farmers and their families in Rhodesia/Zimbabwe and let hardcore communist murderer Mugabe off the hook for his economic genocide against the most productive sector of that country.
And they probably didn’t do much coverage of No. Korean troops in Zimbabwe which instructed govt troops on how to suppress both white and black opponents of the government in mass shootings, torture, and burnings.
Ah yes, the British Marxist Left is still alive and well as it was during the 40’s/50/s, doing their subversion for Marx and Engels in print and the “telly”.
They make Lord Haw Haw and the Mosley family seem like pikers. If only they got the same treatment Haw Haw got, for their treason. Then England might become a 2nd rate nation again instead of an evolving 3rd World/Marxist shithole, a militarily toothless lion, and the “Queen’s Navy” is not full of queens but real sailors.
Fascinating and I did not know that.
But these days, as we have seen, the truth means little.
I guess it has always been that way.
The newspaper’s online edition was the fifth most widely read in the world in October 2014, with over 42.6 million readers.[11] Its combined print and online editions reach nearly 9 million British readers.[12]

Some people kill some indigenous people so we Westerners are supposedly all guilty.
Then there's the mention of palm oil which is only a big deal because environmentalists think it's greener than petroleum.
Then there's the whole real history of South Africa where the Boer were there before the Bantu or Zulu and took very little land from aboriginal people. And even after the Black population took off, much of the land owned by Boers was either theirs from the get go or purchased. And when Blacks were given a chance for land or money they mostly took the money.
And then there's the whole unfortunate story of most aboriginal people dying from diseases for which there were no known cures at the time. Also, at least in the Americas invading groups like the conquistadors were viewed by some Indians as liberators from the death cults of the Aztecs.
History is much more complicated than: Westerners/Whites bad, everyone else good.
ROFL!!
That was damned good!
“Indigenous” is another word that needs to be done away with.
Though I notice the left does seems to accept to some extent that Europe has been white for a looong time.
But of course, newcomer muslim rapists and killers and terrorists are not frowned upon, like white “intruders” in other areas.
In Europe they need to return much of Italy to the descendants of Carole Lombard and to those kids with black hair, black clothes, and white skin.
Native Americans came across the Siberian land bridge over 20,000 years ago. At what point do people become indigenous?
The people will starve to death if the farms are stolen from private citizens, just like in every other socialist hell-hole in the world.
Rhodesia was the bread basket of Africa when the white farmers had their farms taken away. Not too many years later, the people of Zimbabwe were starving because the cronies who were given the land didn’t know how to run a farm.
Indigenous - I guess people just pop up out of the ground?
Raj reliving the British Raj situation in India.
Not analogous to black NAZI racists murdering whites in South Africa, once a crekatuvely civilized country before Obamaesque leftists took over. Ditto the former RhodesIA ( don’t know what it’s called today and don’t really care).
Africa is a festering sore. Sahara Africa is under the nightmare of Islamic domination, subsaharan Africa, ruined by European colonialism and native tribalism, has never evolved into a civilized
Place.
All true but the lefties make a decent point about there being a disconnect between “widespread murders” and murders being at a twenty year low.
The answer is to point out that while actual murders are down, the number of attacks has been increasing. Maybe the farmers who were most susceptible to killing have been killed and those who remain are hardier — more wary and better defended. In other words, yeah. fewer being killed nowadays but only because they’re harder to kill.
The other is to point out that the real issue, for now, is the legalization of seizure of land based on skin color. Naturally the left is fine with this since to them it looks like virtuous social justice, and of course they are no fans of property rights, but hopefully any reasonable people looking on wouldn’t see it that way.
