Hot off the wires. It turns out that they're not going to stop at purging Alex Jones. Who would've thought?
One thing they have...is all your associates. Another, is the logins for a slew of websites and blogs, which greatly limits where you can speak even outside of their sites.
The problem though isnt simply the Google/MS/Facebook policy. Its that theres been a change in policy after achieving an effective monopoly, and after years of encouraging these groups to expend resources building on platforms. Further theres an association with election season that exacerbated the problem further.
The Left was embarrassed by Rapin Bill ...
—
but succeeded in covering up his treason ...
First they came for Alex Jones, but I didnt speak up, because I rarely looked at his website.
Then they came for Pamela Geller, and I didnt speak up, because I only looked at her website sometimes.
Then they came for Rush Limbaugh, and I didnt speak up, because I DO listen to Rush Limbaugh, very often.
Then they came for me, but I dont even have a website, and now no conservatives do either.
—
after that the ‘disappearances’ began ...
They failed.
I wouldn't normally link to those dogs, but they are morally superior to the modern American Left.
It’s like committing murder.
After you’ve done it once, it becomes a lot easier.
Thats why I asked my initial question - what places in tech are significantly conservative if not dominant?

No place as far as I can tell.
Conservatives need to turn these sites into utilities. before they are forever silenced.
Conservatives would never dream of nationalizing private web sites.

Tell that to Ronald Reagan.
Of course breaking up the utilities of the interest is in the best interest of the United States.
Anti trust is not nationalizing, it is breaking into smaller, more responsive companies that give greater access and pricing for the public.
There are two perfect design models to copy. Investors would beat down the door at the IPO.
Excellent.
This is a conservative approach to the problem.

there are already sites out there and I can tell you the beating down of the door, has not happened.
Conservatives are all talk and no action.
Look at how hard it is to just keep this site funded.
Be serious.
Narrative control writ large.
They think that if they control the platform, they control the universe.

they are right.
that is why this is a big deal.
time for the censors to be ‘demonetized’
BOYCOTT.
Well kiddos, remember: If you don’t receive the “Mark” (the denial of Christ), you can’t buy or sell.....any of this starting to like Biblical to anyone else?
Look at how hard it is to just keep this site funded.
Kind of my point.
I just think that when there is action it should be competing in the marketplace of ideas, not lobbying the government to do the hard work for us.
Trying to use the government to enshrine right wing values is a losing proposition. I never bought into the Sam Francis theory that MARs could manipulate the government to institutionalize conservative beliefs.
The federal bureaucracy needs to be destroyed, not co-opted, which it can't be.
There goes every Fortune 500 company and most of the rest.
Nothing like nationalizing 95% of the economy to ensure that Alex can ride on everyone else's infrastructure for free.
Not that simple. Simon and Schuster doesn't create their own content yet they publish.
It's a little more complicated with the internet. Alex can and does self publish on infowars.com, but when he's on someone else's infrastructure they're doing as much of the publishing as he is.
You also keep going back to some 14th Amendment idea that businesses have to serve everyone equally. That's mistaken.
The 14th says the laws have to apply to everyone equally, not that private business have to treat everyone the same.
I don't have to serve everyone at my lunch counter. The Red Hen was childish and petty when they refused to serve Sarah Sanders but they didn't violate the law.
There are a few areas where we as a society have chosen to add some protections - specifically for race, age, sex and disability, and in some states LGBT status - and Congress has done so through the 1964 Civil Rights act, the ADA and various equal employment statutes, but thats it.
Like it or not, as a business owner I can refuse you service for pretty much every other reason, including liking Trump or being long haired hippie scum.
Pamela Geller on Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kc9Gbf1vv_0 among many. Are you saying that Youtube is no longer paying by view? I don't think that's a problem because there aren't that many views so not a lot of money involved.
Are you sayinng we should regulate youtube and force them to pay for views? I can tell you the very first thing that will happen. A whole bunch of leftists and their lawyers will sue to get some of the money. The next thing that will happen, more gradually, is leftists will take over the regulatory bureaucracy and invent formulas that cause conservatives to get paid less than liberals. Or they'll just go full Lois Lerner and push out the conservatives.
She's not being censored.
I honestly think they won't be targetted. In the story above the conservative wants payment for views. In the case of hosting sites there will always be virtual server services available to anyone. Those can be used to create hosting sites at low or no cost to the end users.
They tried that with some piracy sites a couple years ago. After tying up the site for a year (keeping it out of the DNS) the government gave up their case and returned the domains. Certainly that can happen again. BUt it won't happen for a first amendment site. The piracy sites were pretty much all about piracy, not the first amendment.
