and have had responsibilities thrust upon me for which I have no great natural talent.

Things will settle down before long and I'll be back to spreading sunshine and good cheer.

Thanks for checking in, Humblegunner. Thoughts for you and your family. I recently lost my dear husband, and thank goodness for a son who took care of all the follow-up work that followed. It was all beyond me.

I am sorry for your loss. As far as (as I assume) your duties as an executor are concerned prepare for duties that may last a year. Get plenty of death certificates and a good attorney.
