I apologize for this vanity, but this has been gnawing at me all day.
Why would Trump hold a primetime, evening address to the nation to name a SCOTUS selection?
He didn't do it for Gorsuch. Usually, a SCOTUS selection is just a general press conference with the president and SCOTUS choice.
What if there's going to be ground-shaking news tomorrow? The sealed indictments? Mueller or Rosenstein getting fired? Possibly the reunification of North and South Korea? Troops on the border or a national emergency to immediately begin construction of the wall?
President Trump DID announce his nomination of J. Gorsuch in prime time. A SCOTUS nomination is one of the most important things any president does .. some don’t get any nominations.
He’ll probably tool on the dems for 18 minutes, basically hold a rally or give a speech, then spend the last 2 minutes announcing his pick.
However, there may be big things afoot. I saw a video on Twitter today of Bill and Hillary Clinton flying commercial. The two of them must be worth $100m at least. Why would they be flying on a commercial jet? Frozen assets maybe?
One can always hope.

If it is ACB, expect pictures of her, her family, (especially the two adopted kids) and everything else that will galvanize Conservatives, while informing the uninformed about her bonafides, in anticipation of the despicable attacks to follow. This is why the event will be televised.
He’s building public awareness and support for his nominee, putting a human face on him or her, taking the initiative away from the Commucrats. This will be a tougher slog than Gorsuch was. That’s all this is about and he’s doing the right thing.
Lets hope Trump briefly mentions these mental cases who’ve been all over screaming and protesting his nominee when they don’t even know who it is. He might refer to the lack of civility these Democrats have put on public display. Over the top! Cult-like. The tribe of bad intent.
With a wink, Trump might let his supporters know he could nominate the worlds biggest legal genius and person of the year and the Democrats would still be making asses of themselves crying and opposing it. Corrupt Democrat losers is the only way to describe these sheep.

Maybe Pres. Trump's prime time address will announce that Tuesdays will now be Hot Wings Tuesdays at all Trump hotels and golf clubs.

It fits the Trump modus operandi

Unexpected
Instantaneous
Devastating
Recall the opening and walk through at Trump International on Pennsylvania Ave...He brought in a first-rate collection of Admirals and Generals.
The press goes berserk...standing on chairs ...shouting out stupid questions.
Then the presser at one of the debates...when he introduced the victims of the toons advances.
Reporters were making a big deal about his statements that Obama was not born here, and so he called a press conference to address the issue, at the end of the week. For a whole week reporters speculated about what he would say, up to and including that he would drop out of the race. He had his press conference and everyone was there, broadcasting live. He talked for about a half an hour about everything he wanted to talk about, then in one sentence at the end he said he thought Obama was born in the US. It was an absolutely masterful trolling of the reporters for free airtime.
She should bring her kids to the confirmation hearing and introduce them to the senators. I’m sure the MSM will call this child abuse, or say how a mother as busy as her won’t have time to be on the supreme court. I love the attack on Catholicism by Feinstein, someone needs to tell here that most of those Hispanic voters her party needs are, dare I say it, Catholics.
Maybe he announce his SCOTUS pick and pardon Paul Manafort for undue biased criminal prosecution and torture by solitary confinement. Then everyone can watch DC meltdown. As Clint would say “go ahead, make my day”. MAGA.
One of the great ironies of the Trump Era is that he hammers the Crooked, Fake News Media, and they make millions from having Trump on the air and in the news.
President Trump controls the agenda, both political and news.
Most of the time he wins, in the end.
