Kentucky-based health care provider Humana is hiring 100 phone sales employees in Tampa Bay. The new hires will field sales calls and offer enrollment assistance for Humanas Medicare plans and other products.
The positions, which are being added to help with the Medicare open enrollment period in the fall, will start between this week and July 9. Humana will pay for phone sales associates to get their health insurance license, in-depth certification and sales training.
"Successful candidates," the company said, will have a high school diploma or equivalent and be available to work any shift from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., as well as weekends. The company has about 3,900 employees in Tampa Bay currently.

In other words a bunch of people who know nothing.
I had to deal with reps at Express-Scripts-——dumbest people EVER.
.
I am enrolled in a Humana Medicare Advantage plan. It costs me nothing to join, actually Humana pays ME $52 every month for joining the plan! My only responsibility is to keep paying Medicare each month.
Humana pays you for joining?
Great deal——will this ever end or is it temporary?
.
I don’t understand. If it costs you nothing why are you paying every month?
“The enrollment specialsts have to learn the intricasies and rules for every freaking state.”

Insanity.
I have been on Medicare for 20 years and every November when the open enrollment starts I am inundated with mail-—VERY hard to plow through,so I never change anything.
So far,so good.
.
Interesting, I tried an Advantage program but left after one year. The program promised a lot but had many restrictions about how often your could go in for whatever. They also restricted the meds and I was constantly having to see the doctors about a modification because they changed the drugs that they would cover.
I also found that some doctors were not thrilled to see me. This changed when I left the advantage program, but the cost of the advantage program was significantly lower than the regular plan I am on now. But the Docs never have a problem giving me an appointment.
Here’s your 3 X 5 Card.
I am so sick of this constant harassing garage from these people. It should be illegal to initiate any company to call a private citizen!
You must have Medicare B to sign up for Medicare Advantage plans. And there is a cost for signing up for Medicare B, about $130/month.
“Medicare Part B (medical insurance) is part of Original Medicare and covers medical services and supplies that are medically necessary to treat your health condition. This can include outpatient care, preventive services, ambulance services, and durable medical equipment. It also covers part-time or intermittent home health and rehabilitative services, such as physical therapy, if they are ordered by a doctor to treat your condition.
Some of the preventive services Medicare Part B covers include a one-time Welcome to Medicare preventive visit, flu and hepatitis B shots, cardiovascular screenings, cancer screenings, diabetes screenings, and more. For a full list of preventive services covered under Medicare Part B, refer to the Medicare handbook, Medicare and You.
There are many private insurers you can opt for instead of regular gov’t Medicare. Medicare pays only 80% of hospital bills. I signed up for Humana HMO. All primary doctor visits are no cost. If I go into a hospital, my plan requires me to pay first $700 and rest is covered by the plan. And this HMO pays me $52/month, which brings down my Medicare B cost down to about $80/month.
All depends on which plan and which primary doctor. My Humana HMO plan doctor is happy to prescribe any medications I want (which is none) plus she wants me to take cholesterol control & blood pressure meds which I really do not need since I exercise regularly and I am strong as a horse at age 78. No pains, no aches, no complains anywhere in my beautiful athletic body hahaha.
In the past before reaching Medicare age, I have had bad HMO’s and good HMO’s...mostly based on who is the primary doc assigned to you. But you can request changes of your primary doc.
Thanks. I understand now.
I’ve made good money in phone sales and I’m sure I’m not the only one. 3 X 5 cards went out with the 1980’s.
To quote from Godfather movie, “They made me an offer I could not refuse” haha. Yes, Human HMO Medicare Advantage plan in this area of NE Florida actually pays $52/month to sign up. This is my 5th month they have paid $52 every month. They do not send a check, instead they work with Medicare and my monthly Medicare part B premium is $52 less.
That is a VERY good deal-——good for you.
My former employer pays $25.00 a month towards my Medicare charge,so not complaining——they have done it for 20 years.

Could you please tell us the name of the insurer so we know who to avoid?

I still use them for recipes. :-)

My primary doc does not get involved in these things, I have had programs where everything needed to be approved by a primary, but I try not to get in them. They usually end up being restrictive.
I have looked but I don’t have any good reference to that past experience. I saw a reference to Bluecross in my files, Perhaps that it it. Otherwise I am sorry to not have a name for you.
