While homeownership may be a key part of the American dream, a lot of people rent their homes. Why they do it is irrelevant. What matters is that their money is good and they are (usually) good tenants, right?
It seems thats not enough for one New Jersey outfit. They also want to tell you that youre not allowed to own guns if you want to live in one of their properties.
Another nobody is trying to take your guns success story. It has come to our attention that a housing development group called RPM Development Group is prohibiting their tenants from owning firearms. You have two choices: keep your gun(s) or become homeless. A new low for the anti-gun bigots!
While Moms Demand Action claims that nobody wants to take your guns away, one common theme keeps happening: our guns are being taken away either by usurpation or now by being barred from having them in our rental apartments. Despite the fact that the Supreme Courts Heller decision states that we have a constitutional right to own and bear firearms in our homes, RPM Development Group believes they are immune.
RPM Notice to All Tenants (Courtesy of Ammoland.com) We were made aware that this sign was posted at RPMs Richardson Lofts at 50 Columbia Street, Newark NJ. A search of RPMs available properties shows they have multiple properties and buildings throughout NJ.

Yup, Ayn Rand was prescient.
I’ve been turned down for rentals because I smoke and because I was single, separately.
I think I have a right to smoke and be single.
She nailed it in 1957
You could live there a long time and never reveal your position.
They have revealed theirs.

BINGO! Be smarter than the bastards.
Sticky Holster, S&W MP Shield.
Yer Dr won’t know.
Agreed this is unenforceable and this landlord just set himself up for a huge judgement
I’m going to guess that either the insurance company told the landlord that allowing guns on the property would increase liability insurance costs, or some government entity leaned on him. Or maybe the banks.
Unilateral contract change? Since guns are legal, I dont see how they do this any more then they can tell you how to exercise other constitutional amendments. Since they are trying to make gun free zone, will they have 24x7x365 armed security? Will they escort to/from cars, etc.?
Smoking isnt a right and can damage the units. (Not that Im against smoking - all for it).
Not renting because youre single is illegal though
How about this... anyone with a car having a Bernie Sanders or any Democratic stickers, any liberal stickers, shall also be given notice or evicted? If fair to restrict 2nd amendment, then must be okay to do same with first. Beaide\s, a NY judge already confirmed this against Trump supporters.
I think a nice big fat lawsuit against the owner of this building is in order. A couple million dollar one with the owner paying all the attorney’s fees seems fair and appropriate.
It just needs someone who lives there to do it who has standing.
I lived in an apartment where my neighbors in an adjoining apartment smoked. My apartment was unlivable because of it, because I tried everything to keep the cigarette smoke out of my apartment. Nothing worked. My landlord had to let me out of my lease.
It appears to be a reprisal under NJ law:

Well, then the landlord should be able to ban baseball bats, knives, Colt 45, MAGA apparel, homies whose pants are below their ass, people with herpes (they cause a lot more pain than legal gun owners).
“5Smoking isnt a right..,”
But it’s not not a right either.
“My apartment was unlivable because of it, because I tried everything to keep the cigarette smoke out of my apartment”
Life’s a bitch ain’t it?
If not, is a blanket party an option?
They could follow the lead of the animal lovers and call it a Companion Gun./s
In All cases where firearms are prohibited for personal defense, the Property Owner Shall be Personally Liable for All injury and losses of any person on their property.
