Brief discussion on significance of Artificial intelligence
Robert Keller

Posted on 04/12/2018 10:27:45 AM PDT by clusterone02

Artificial intelligence is concerned with study and design of intelligent systems. The intelligent systems have reduced the stress of human beings or in other words these intelligent systems have replaced the human beings. AI serves the most effective role in our life and it is being the reason behind development of many industries. There is number of things which we use are development of AI. It has brought automation in the processes of more than many industries. Now, almost all size and type of organizations are taking advantage from the AI and some of the most common examples of AI are: • Virtual Personal Assistants • Video Games • Smart Cars • Purchase Prediction • Fraud Detection • Online Customer Support • News Generation • Security Surveillance • Music and Movie Recommendation Services • Smart Home Devices etc.

Above mentioned are the major applications of artificial intelligence. All these are being possible due to AI applications. The development of AI applications is not as simple as web development or other things. But it is the process that consumes a lot of time, energy and efforts. The data practitioners and scientists have to spend a lot of efforts on development of AI and they need to deal with complex code and datasets. They need to work over a framework to successfully develop an intelligent system that uniquely solves a purpose. And to run code on framework they need an AI platform. Although, there are number of frameworks which are used by developers for development of intelligent systems but TensorFlow is really very popular.

TensorFlow is an open source library allows the scientists and engineers to work over complex projects. To streamline TensorFlow, if you need the best Artificial intelligence cloud platform then ClusterOne is the ideal choice. It is uniquely integrated to work over TensorFlow and you can easily save your time and money while working on this largest AI platform. It is easy to set up and can be used by anyone who is working on complex projects. You can easily manage your code, datasets and models by using ClusterOne.

It has endless features which will enhance your experience and give you a chance to give reality to your vision about the AI application. ClusterOne is easy to use and flexible platform for distributed machine learning now makes it easy, fast and cheap to develop intelligent systems. No matter, how large your project is but working on models and datasets will be really simple with this large scale AI platform. It is developed with an aim to help machine learning teams so that they can easily develop intelligent systems for industries. So, if you really need the best way to manage your TensorFlow projects then make sure you prefer ClusterOne.

So it will be Cluster1 not Skynet. Thanks for the heads up.

AI will make the most significant change in human life within the next 50 years than anything before.

Children born today may have to fight AI robots, in their lifetime, to survive.

People do not know what is coming.

What is the endgame with AI? What kind of jobs will be left, and what will our economy/society look like when this comes to fruition?

Robert needs a good editing program, for grammar and syntax.

AI will make advances, but were are very, very far away from artificial general intelligence. AI is still just a tool, nothing more.

Buy a head-stone now, and inscribe this on it.

In about ten years it will be considered quaint.

The sum total of human knowledge essentially doubles every two years (35% CAGR). Moore borrowed the concept to describe falling semi-conductor prices (ie performance doubling).

Certain areas of study can grow even faster once start-step hurdles are overcome. Consider how fast aerospace advanced once the Wright brothers had perfected the basic operation of the wing.

Same is true with AI - it's being driven by the twin channels of genetic research and computing power. The entirety of our perception of reality aka consciousness is housed in the front section of our brains weighing maybe 2 lbs. Just a big bundle of nerves washed in a chemical bath. Perhaps only a few key gene expressions make the whole matter operate.

Then consider quantum computing, where we move from binary operations to perhaps infinite micro-states that mimic brain operations. Combine what is to be discovered about memory implant and resource processing, and who will be able to tell between organic & non-organic intelligence?

This is where the action is, and it should go without saying that of course the primary battlefield will be just that: a virtual battlefield. Forget space - the group/nation that controls AI will rule the world. Hence the AI arms race even as I type.

This looks like a fair to middling translation of something from a foreign language, maybe Chinese.

Welding AY with the human mainframe is not so far off. I give us five, maybe ten years and integration of AI ‘enhancements’ will be firmly established. Actually, since I believe the Rapture is close, five years may be too much. The World ruler will use some form of AI to track everyone on the planet during the Tribulation.

Yup. I started making chips in Santa Clara in 1967...retired in 1995. I'm very familiar with mister Moore's Law, I may have even met him once.

People don't have the slightest idea what is on the horizon.

You are so right. Most people do not know and do not care as long as their phone let's them order a pizza just by talking to it. AI discussions do not appear on the morning shows (probably too advanced for their audience), is only briefly mentioned in the news ( occasionally ), and certainly does not top water cooler conversations unless you work in the industry. To those that say don't worry for the next x years... You should start worrying about x+1. It is not a question of if... It is a question of when. A decade or two will make no difference.

Yes, ultimately AI can/will operate on the atomic level. Biological beings are of course hard wired to the 5 primary senses, but AI will handle 'mechanical' functions via wireless protocols.

So, given virtual intelligent agents control of nano particle tools aka "weapons, and we can now clearly imagine how 5th gen battlefields are going to evolve.

(Also space travel. It's ridiculous to consider the future of exploration is a massive energy hog transporting physic organic matter ie human beings. Much more logical to launch receiving stations/tools, then simply transmit AI electronically at the speed of light. Once there, it can operate equipment via the same types of wireless protocols.)

You should start worrying about x+1. It is not a question of if... It is a question of when. A decade or two will make no difference.

That's a really good point, and brings up an interesting philosophical question: what if timing does make a difference? That is, what happens if technology advances too far beyond society's ability to politically organize & function in a peaceful manner? For example, what would have happened if Nazi Germany developed the A-bomb 5 years before the USA? In this case, humanity lucked out since a 1/2 decade made a huge difference in the course of future human events.

Which then brings up the issue we touched on before: what happens if an adversary beats us to the punch? Consider Rome: what if they hadn't rested on their laurels and indulged in sensual delights, but rather maintained their technical advantage and developed firearms circa AD300? (And steam engines AD600, and so on.)

This, to me, suggests the real danger is the West's matriarchal fascination with libprog priorities on social justice and other soft, emotional projects. Like (west) Rome eventually falling to the Germans, maybe the next winner is the one that continues to concentrate all political, economic and technical capital on emerging threat(s) just around the corner.

While debates about such nonsense as gender fluidity plays out in the public square, perhaps the unseen knock-out blow comes from a traditional, patrimonial society that never relaxes their guard.
