Chachi is right.
Anyone under 30 in New York would not have a clue.

Yet, the kind of messin’ Pres Trump is doing may only be understood by the people of his era. It’s becoming a lost art. To me, it brings back good memories, like going back home to a warm fireplace. The good old days.

NYC has so many different accents, which change from not just borough to borough, but often from neighborhood to neighborhood and street to street, but also from generation to generation!

I had NEVER heard an accent like Trump has and I knew/know people from different boroughs!

OTOH...I fully understand what he says and Tweets and THAT is just "normal" to me.

You get it too! :-)

Not just NY either. I’m from Mass and it was the same way. And you know hollywood knows this. Just watch Good Will Hunting. Friends cussing each other out, putting each other down, yet they’re friends and stick with each other, help each other.

I moved down to FL and worked with a guy. We were becoming friends and I started messing with him. One day he said he was going to slam me on the concrete if I kept talking to him like that. I explained that it was the way friends talked to each other where I came from and that if I didn’t like him, I wouldn’t even be talking to him. He understood completely once I said that. He’d probably seen plenty of movies with Yankees in it talking the same way, like Rocky etc.

Most everyone knows. They just don’t know they know.
