Appearing on Fox News last week, actor Scott Baio explained a very important fact about President Trumps rhetorical style. In responding to attacks on the presidents tone and and general fitness for office, Baio had this to say: Im going to help the media right now, okay, Im going to try to help them
Its not going to go anywhere, but Im going to try to help them because theyve called the president, the president has dementia, hes and idiot, hes not mature
Im from Brooklyn, President Trump is from Queens. This is what we do. We mess with people. Thats it.

Maybe you're being sarcastic but I can't tell.
Such people do exist but they are not leaders. They conform to the status quo so as not to offend anyone. They'll just go along with the DC crowd to fit in.
Maybe you should have voted for Yeb Bush instead of Trump. He's a good, knowledgeable speaker with a polished way about him.
But he is not a leader. He's a crybaby. And he was the biggest p*ssy of the 16 that ran against Trump.
Trump is what my high school football coach called a hatchet man. "Go in there and knock a few heads and get some of the players on the other team thrown out of the game."
Trump is OUR hatchet man. He's the perfect man, for this impossible job, at this tipping point is our country's history.
We don't need another polished politician in the office again. We need someone who may be rough around the edges but who will get the job done.
I don't know of anyone else out there who could do what he's done and still be left standing for more.
Not really; I was kind of cossetted as a child, but also grew up “street wise”...it’s a NYC thing. :-)
Brilliant observation!
We get him and always have done. :-)
From My Cousin Vinny: “trust me Stan, I’ve seen your family argue, their amateurs”
It’s Outer Borough tamed somewhat by the monotone accent of tonier NY locales. Martha Stewart affects that monotone very well for a little Polish girl, she’s studied her target and hit the bullseye. Trump comes by it naturally.
In theory, maybe, but he didn't come off that way during the campaign.
Sort of like Rick Perry, maybe. They may have been decent governors, but they suffered from brain freeze on the campaign trail.
There isn’t a bit of that profile which doesn’t fit him like a glove. His picture should appear in all books or articles which mention the character type. But he’s also a typical ball busting, takes no s*** from anyone, accomplishes ten times what others can in a day, New Yorker. They can rub people the wrong way, but could not care less. Lived and worked in the area for a number of years and visited many times, and for some reason, despite growing up in the Midwest, I’ve always gotten along splendidly with them.
Concise but meaningful....LOL.
WHY?
( the following is a cleaned up version of what my first reply was going to be...I'm a NEW YORKER, but do try to not be uber combative at first! )
But was disgusted and shocked at your gullibility and naivete.
Falling for a fake accent and style is appalling and you need to get over it!
But Ill take winning
That NY style makes me cringe at times but I could not be happier with this President.
Meh... everyone wants some boring unemotional leader who is polished and speaks like James Madison or Thomas Jefferson.
Those personalities are mostly pussies and get bowled over. Its time for a fighter with dome testosterone.
This may be of interest to you.

Hell yeah, nothing I like better than manly banter while I’m working. Oh, the prison humor we used to engage in. It would pucker a snowflake into next year.
Consequently I got it the first time I heard him speak.
It serves a purpose. You grab someone by the lapels, to be polite, give him a real shake and see what he is made of. If he calls you an SOB or tells you to eff off, then at least you are dealing with a mensch and not a pink hat wearing snowflake.
Trump "monotone"?
Obama spoke in monotones.
I think you're looking for a different word; though not really certain which word that might be.
LOL!
