The Dow just reached 25,000, the economy is booming, and ISIS has been decimated, so of course the news media is talking about none of these stories. The latest political frenzy surrounds the new book, Fire and Fury, by controversial author Michael Wolff. It is basically a nasty, full-frontal attack on Donald Trump.
Grow up.
Pretty well sums it up. I used to think Bannon was smart. I was wrong.
It seems to be the general consensus.
Meaning what? You think what Steve Bannon did was in any way good? Brilliant? Loyal? Smart?
Bannon is a small blip in history.
Onward.

One stupid remark made last year shouldn't be enough to earn your hate. Bannon isn't McCain, Romney, David French, or Bill Kristol. Where is your hate for the Senators who worked all last year to hold "Russia hearings" but passed only one bill? Where is your hate for all the other people who supposedly said bad things about Trump in the book?
I understand why Trump said what he said. It's good politics. Bannon's profile was too highly linked to his own, and he wanted to distance himself. He has. But don't write off Bannon just yet. Not until he sticks the knife in the back of our cause, rather than our leader's son-in-law.
We are conservatives. We don't follow a personality cult. At least we ought not to. We made mistakes with Bush and we shouldn't repeat them.

So here we go again. On a book that everybody is panning as pure bullcrap, the only thing that anybody gives any credence to fact is Bannon’s ALLEGED statement. ALLEGED.
Have you heard anything of FACT that is corroborated? Nope. Until it is, I will just remember the notice before it was reported on that Trump was planning the FakeNews trophies for 2017 this coming Monday.
Until it is admitted to or corroborated by someone else who was in the room when it was said to this ‘reporter’, off it goes to the suspense file. Does anyone for an instant think that Bannon cares a whit about being called sloppy when he goes out of his way to not give a crap?

You express my concerns perfectly.
Bannon returned Trump’s trust and the great opportunity given to him by accusing Trump’s family—along with Trump himself—of treason and lack of patriotism. Now the media is obsessed with Trump’s mental instability—which they derive from the quotes Bannon refuses to deny.
No one did anything comparable to this to Obama. A betrayal of such magnitude will go down in history. Bannon exercised bad judgment at every juncture.

Practically everything we know about Jvanka originates with Bannon’s toxic leaks/gossip. And there is ***nothing*** conservative about saying Trump knew that an unpatriotic, treasonous meeting was going to take place, and allowed his son to participate in it.
Others have denied the Wolff quotes attributed to them but Bannon hasn’t. That’s not on Wolff—that’s squarely on Bannon himself.
Bannon is making money off liberals searching for dirt. In 3 months, Bannon ought to announce he’s giving all the profits to Trump’s next Presidential campaign.
