DEVELOPING

Monitoring reports in Israel of artillery, rockets and IAF activity in the Golan.

IDF ground artillery and IAF striking positions in Syria. Reports of Iron Dome taking down inbound rockets

This doesn’t look like the big one - yet

Again, this is early morning in Syria/Israel. reports can be confusing. A fairly large skirmish between Assad’s SAA and Israel. both with artillery. video posted of about 8 grad rockets launching from Syria (though not certain if current footage - this is a MLRS type system). It is uncertain if the Grads were SAA or Iranian manned.

this is the biggest exchange between assad’s forces and Israel in quite some time.

Latest indicates IDF counter strikes are building in number and intensity.

the plot thickens

There are reports by an Israeli Army Spokesman that about 20 projectiles were fired by the Iranian Qods Force at Israel’s forward defensive line in the Golan Heights. Missile defense systems carried out several interceptions. No injuries.

Focus of the Israeli targets is Baath City, northern Quneitra, Syria.

BDA from last nights action in Syria.

Unfortunately had to go off line, but here’s a wrap up.
Following an exchange between IDF and SAA forces, Iranian Qods forces launched about 20 rockets at Israel. IDF responded by hitting about 50 Iranian targets. Israel reports the targets were principally equipment and infrastructure. Much of the IDF attacks were centered on military positions in Quneitra. other targets include:

- Qods force (QF)intelligence HQ
- QF logistical centre
- Military & logistical base in al-Kiswah
- Iranian base north of Damascus
- QF weapons depot force in Damascus international

With it now being daylight, more BDA is being conducted, but last night’s 4 hour or so skirmish was one of the largest since the start of the Syrian civil war. Israel hit iran and Syria hard to make their point - any Iranian aggression will be met with a very substantial retaliatory strike.

Reviewed a bunch of reports. Israeli media saying that last night’s strikes stopped iran from its threatened attack on Israel. I don’t believe it. though substantial, they only served warning to iran.

more general reports of IDF ‘armor’ moving / repositioning in the Golan heights area - expected. Question is will there be a round 2 tonight?

Looking into the crystal ball - things seem rather quiet.

Stratigically, I think Iran got its nose bloodied for the first time in a real way. I don’t accept the Israeli claim that ALL Iranian facilities were ‘destroyed’, but that Israel was able to strike them with such ease.

Earlier rumblings suggested Iran would initiate the rocket attack using Hezbollah proxy forces in Syria and Lebanon. Qods forces apparently didn’t get the memo. Been reading that hezbolah is getting bled pretty badly helping Iran in Syria. that impacts using Lebanon as a front. Israel has also been pretty blunt about a Lebanese front - holding the govt there accountable and refusing to adjust its targeting as they did in 2006. Means all those munitions stored in schools, hospitals, etc are fair game and I bet by now the mossad has them pretty well pinpointed.

Monday is May 14, remembering the birth of Israel 70 years ago. IIRC we open our embassy in Jerusalem that day. Worth watching if the Muslims get froggy or not.

A MAJOR tectonic shift beneath the Yellowstone Supervolcano has been detected, sparking fears of a massive eruption that could cause widespread devastation across the planet.

Fears surrounding the Hawaii volcanic eruptions have led to increased focus on the activity at the Yellowstone Supervolcano.

Increased activity above and below the surface at the US supervolcano has set off alarm bells for those who are monitoring the site for a potential eruption.

Multiple earthquakes at the National Park followed by a fourth eruption of its usually dormant geyser has led to speculation about the world’s largest supervolcano.

The supervolcano sits on the Pacific Ring of Fire, which is responsible for earthquake and volcanic activity along the Pacific Ocean, most recently including Hawaii and Indonesia.

The geyser Steamboat, which had been dormant since September 2014, suddenly erupted on March 15th, April 19th, April 27th and May 4th.

According to Fox News, a swarm of more than 200 earthquakes struck Yellowstone over two weeks, which indicates a shifting of the major tectonic plates beneath the Earth’s surface.

A Fox reporter said two out of the three warning signs of an imminent eruption has caused panic among visitors to the site.

Those warning signs include increased seismic activity, ground deformation and an increased gas outlet at the surface.

While seismic activity and gas outlet has increased during 2018, this has not been to a significant extent and without any sign of ground deformation.

THE MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD’S “GENERAL STRATEGIC GOAL” FOR NORTH AMERICA

Written sometime in 1987 but not formally published until May 22, 1991, Muslim Brotherhood operative Mohamed Akram’s 18-page document listed the Brotherhood’s 29 likeminded “organizations of our friends” that shared the common goal of dismantling American institutions and turning the U.S. into a Muslim nation.

These “friends” were identified by Akram and the Brotherhood as groups that could help convince Muslims

“that their work in America is a kind of grand Jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and ‘sabotaging’ its miserable house by their hands ... so that ... God’s religion [Islam] is made victorious over all other religions.”

Akram was well aware that in the U.S., it would be extremely difficult to promote Islam by means of terror attacks. Thus the “grand jihad” that he and his Brotherhood comrades envisioned was not a violent one involving bombings and shootings,

but rather a stealth (or “soft”) jihad aiming to impose Islamic law (Sharia) over every region of the earth by incremental, non-confrontational means, such as working to “expand the observant Muslim base”; to “unif[y] and direc[t] Muslims’ efforts”; and to “present Islam as a civilization alternative.”

At its heart, Akram’s document details a plan to conquer and Islamize the United States – not as an ultimate objective, but merely as a stepping stone toward the larger goal of one day creating “the global Islamic state.”

In line with this objective, Akram and the Brotherhood resolved to “settle” Islam and the Islamic movement within the United States, so that the Muslim religion could be “enabled within the souls, minds and the lives of the people of the country.”

Akram explained that this could be accomplished “through the establishment of firmly-rooted organizations on whose bases civilization, structure and testimony are built.”

He urged Muslim leaders to make “a shift from the collision mentality to the absorption mentality,” meaning that they should abandon any tactics involving defiance or confrontation, and seek instead to implant into the larger society a host of seemingly benign Islamic groups with ostensibly unobjectionable motives; once those groups had gained a measure of public acceptance, they would be in a position to more effectively promote societal transformation by the old Communist technique of “boring from within.”

Radicalism: The Real Shock Was the Reaction of the Americans...

“Soon,” said the letter, “America Will Be Ours”.

“Ours?”

The writer, it became clear, was an extremist Muslim in the U.S. who claimed to be a reputable religious preacher. With each new word, concern grew.

He pointed out, throughout the letter, the “sinful” ways of the West: dancing, drinking, dating...

He expressed disgust that most women did not wear the hijab or participate in prayer five times a day. Then he got straight to the point: “Ours,” he explained, represented Muslims like him.

The sentiment is hardly a new one. A person hears similar proclamations from many Muslim extremists throughout the years. The real shock was not letter but the reaction of many Americans after seeing it.

Such a thing, they said, could never happen. The writer’s words were “just bluster,” nothing to be taken seriously. Most surprisingly, they stated — honestly — that Muslims who speak of such intentions do not really mean what they say, so these threats should not be cause for concern.

The history of the two nations where I grew up — Iran and Syria — taught all of us there a big lesson about living in this kind of ignorance: the reality of how quickly a nation can be consumed by the philosophies of a religious state. An authoritarian and malicious regime, as exists now in Iran — the world’s leading sponsor of terrorism and brutal even to its own people — is something we cannot forget.

In a few centuries, in Syria, where more than 90% percent of the population were Christians, and in Iran where an overwhelming majority of citizens were Zoroastrians, the demography drastically shifted to majority-Muslim. Neither nation could have anticipated such a change.

While many may underestimate the radical preacher’s claims that “Soon, America Will Be Ours”, for extremist Muslims these beliefs are strongly and deeply rooted.

Many extremists believe that their religious desire — for a “Muslim takeover of the White House, a directive from Muhammad himself “ — is coming true in the US. Religiously speaking, for these Muslims, ruling America is Allah’s (God’s) word, a sacred promise is coming to fruition.

A recent survey and demographic research released by the Pew Research Center found that Muslims will soon overtake members of other religions, including Jews, as the second-largest religious group in the United States.

This issue should not be taken lightly. What does being the second-largest religion in a country mean? Voters impact local and national politics, swing domestic elections, elect more representatives from the same religious affiliation, are influential enough to determine who the next president of the United States may be, and change the laws of the land. All it takes is a subtle shift in power for the entire society, political system and culture of a nation to be changed.

The number of Muslims in the US has increased by 40% in just five years — between 2010-2015 — while in the same period the non-Muslim population of the US has grown by only five percent. This means that the Muslim population is growing almost eight times faster than the non-Muslim population in the US.

Active night in gaza.

Hamas sends rockets and mortars into Israeli cities along the border. Israel replies with defensive missiles and bombing. Apparently the march on the wall isn’t working well enough, so hamas is upping the ante.

Because of the potential volume of rocket fire hamas can mass, there are some comments of concern that they may be trying to whittle down the stockpile of Iron Dome missiles and degrade that asset.

Night approaching Israel/Gaza. An IDF source is reportedly stating that IDF activity will be increasing through the night.

Sirens are reported now sounding in town along the Gaza border.

Some of the rockets shot have been linked to Iran. Even if the info is wrong, Israel doesn’t have any more patience for that and I don’t think they feel hamstrung like they did under 0bama. If how Israel has handled Iran in Syria is any measure - it could be a hot night in Gaza.

Hamas has announced that any strike on Gaza tonight will trigger retaliatory rocket strikes on Tel Aviv.

Potential seriousness of an escalation is reflected in the Emergency UN Scty council meeting called by the US scheduled for tomorrow.

At least 10 rockets have been fired from Gaza within the past few minutes. Air raid sirens across all of southern Israel now.

Morning is soon to reach Gaza/Israel.

It doesn’t seem Hamas hasn’t launched as many rockets as previous night, but better analysis by tomorrow. There is RUMINT that Hamas is reinforcing the border region in anticipation of some sort of ground action. There is also some RUMINT that Hamas has called for a cease fire within the last hour. No confirmation that i can see yet. Apparently part of this ‘cease fire’ is trying to claim that israel has agreed to one as well. Israeli sources repudiate that claim so far.

IDF is confirmed to be sending reinforcements south to the border area tonight. IAF ops/bombing continues - probably suppressing hamas rocket attacks. Some Israeli pundants note the current activity is similar to the build up to the 2014 conflict.

My guess is that Israel has hamas dialed in pretty well and is less concerned with collateral damage knowing that the US will back them (unlike 0bama). Thus able to strike targets they would have avoided in the past.
