The United States Office of the Inspector Generals probe of FBI brass is yielding investigative fruits that may warrant a referral for criminal charges related to FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, according the FBI and DOJ sources.
McCabe, who has been administratively sidelined and stripped of his responsibilities by new FBI Director Christopher Wary, has been the target of an OIG probe for months. According to FBI sources, OIG investigators are finalizing its probe of the Bureau and McCabes name keeps surfacing time and time again. Federal law enforcement sources said the OIGs findings have eclipsed simple administrative breakdowns in the FBIs front office of its D.C. headquarters.
There are several glaring problems, one FBI source said. I dont see from what I know how McCabe walks away without lawyering up or cutting a deal to walk away and try to make this go away.
The source said the OIGs findings could warrant a referral to launch a separate criminal case by the Justice Department or U.S. Special Counsel Robert Muellers team which share jurisdiction over any criminality linked to the 2016 presidential election.
There are many problems and Andy is at the center of this thing, the FBI insider said. Some financial things have come up in the review, that is all I can say.

I certainly understand your feelings. I’m still looking for a pony in that pile of HS.
“Start with Rod Rosenstein.”
Personally, I would not object to that.
But Trump appointed him. And RR did what Trump wanted: he wrote the recommendation to fire Comey.
Plus, firing RR today would give the Mueller team at least another year of fishing based on the wrong-headed-but-popular notion that such a firing would constitute obstruction of justice.
So I don’t see that happening without some charges against RR or something beyond just being mad about the Russia nonsense which itself is unlikely to harm Trump.
Again, I’m still willing to see RR go away tomorrow. But I’m not predicting it and I’m not reflexively blaming Sessions for it.
The DOJ rules are pretty clear about conflicts of interest and recusals. Sessions should put somebody else besides Rosenstein in charge of the Deep State investigations.
If Sessions wants to stay, and if you want him to stay, then Sessions needs to leave us in good hands when it comes to the Deep State investigations.
“Sessions needs to ...”
Well, he just recently mentioned that DOJ has an enormous number (27) of on-going leak investigations - the fact that we don’t know the details yet only means Jeff is better than Comey/Lynch at doing his job properly regarding leaks.
And Jeff now tells us the DOJ IG has been investigating the FBI all this year.
Good and honest DOJ people don’t leak. Even when they are winning. And when our own troops are whining.
The DOJ IG is conducting those investigations, not Sessions. And the IG is an Obama appointee.
As I said, if the recused Sessions wishes to remain AG he should leave us in good hands. Not in the hands of an Obama appointee. Not in the hands of a person picked by the Deep State and the previous administration.
Have McCabe and Strzok been fired yet?
Did his wife end up winning that election?
“...Obama appointee.”
That alone does not mean he is corrupt. He was also appointed once to a prior job by GW Bush.
Comey and Mueller were both appointed by Republicans. Does that mean they always favor our side? Obviously not.
I’m willing to listen if you have info regarding flaws in the IG’s character or if you have the leaked report - he’s looking into Comey, Clinton, McCabe.- and it shows Horowitz to be part of the cover-up problem.
placemark.
Good perspective...
