Robocall on the answering machine.
https://youtu.be/EOVw2stWtlg
when I have free time I call them back and string them along until the finally get fed up and drop off.
My answering message: “Hi. Leave your name and number, and if you’re not a solicitor or a politician, we’ll call you back.”
Is it just me? Or does “Officer Charlie Williams” have a bit of an Indian accent?
I installed a Sentry call screener last week and robo calls stopped in their tracks. Zero unwanted calls where I was getting at least two a day.
Windows Police? I’d like 2 orders of Chicken Tikka, garlic nan and simosas.
For your land line or cell phone?
Be careful. They will ask you questions the answer to which will usually be “yes.” They then splice the “yes” into whatever sales pitch they like and use your “yes” for voice authentication of what they’re trying to do, such as switch phone carriers.
This is on VOIP. I don’t use a cell phone.

Officer Charlie Williams needs to talk with Lenny. Lenny is NOT a real person. He’s a robot designed to frustrate and confuse scammers. (Below is a three-minute sample. Trust me, it’s worth the click.)

LOL!
They call here all the time, sometimes its an actual person, sometimes a robocall, ALL for Obamacare, we dont have Obamacare, never did, never will..yet they still keep calling..and they are smart, they use phony names and local numbers so you think its someone legit(And not every spam call gets knocked off by Nomorerobo)
They stopped using the “Can you hear me now” nonsense many months back..A woman called our house a few days ago, some Asian sounding name from the caller ID, she knew my Mom’s name, asked her if this is Mrs...and my mom said “Yes” then she went on about Obamacare and my Mom hung up on her..so she got worried that since she said “Yes” to that question she might get screwed, but I doubt it, I looked up the number, more likely spam and NOT scam
If I don’t recognize the number, then I don’t even answer the phone.
If it’s someone legitimate, I figure they will leave me a voicemail and I can call them back.
And they have.
And I do.
I like to give out 11 digit social security numbers
That’s close to what I say: two tandori chicken and rice chop-chop! get it here in20 minutes or I don’t pay.
they tell me to hit the key with the wavy windows flag ( i have a Mac) then I say OK and then they say do this,I say OK and it goes on till they figure it out and hang up
Almost all calls go to voice mail. There are a few exceptions that rate a pickup.
The spouse, parents, office, and a couple of friends.
