Looking to pocket carry? You need to look at these guns. A lot can be said for a gun that is concealable enough to pocket carry and go largely unnoticed. Most of the pistols on this list are very small, you wouldn’t be able to see them even if you knew where to look.
As far as stopping power, for this size, you have to have the mindset that something is better than nothing. However, these “somethings” still offer lot of firepower but not a mini-cannon. You may not be a small gun person, but these are pretty cool as a backup to the backup. (Be Prepare) Here’s our list for top 5 pocket pistols for concealed carry:
Smith and Wesson .380 Bodyguard
Smith and Wesson really did it right when they made this weapon. The laser is a great touch if you need it, and it’s so small it can literally go anywhere totally unnoticed in a pocket. This is perfect to carry when packing light.
Glock 42
Glock is synonymous with quality, reliability, and great shooting handguns. With that in mind comes the Glock 42. It’s flat out the pocket carry self defense pistol of choice for many Americans.
Smith and Wesson BodyGuard 38 Revolver
You can call this pocket carry gun one of the most reliable subcompact weapons out there. At only a five shot, it does offer slightly more punch in the 38 special round. The ease of use is that easy. NAA 22 LR revolver.
THAT is a pocket pistol.
For a pocket pistol I much prefer one the modern lightweight 38 or 357 caliber revolvers like the S&W bodyguard or the Ruger LCR.
PA 63 Walther clone does just fine!
I have a Walther PPK/S .380, but only use for super conceal.
Can’t believe I waited so long to get the trigger work done.
I have an FEG in both .380 and .22LR. They are basically the same gun as the PA-63 but even closer to the Walther in looks.
You are correct, they are fine pistols as reasonable price.
Have you had any jamming issues? I had to do a lot of work on the ramp to smooth it out so rounds would feed into the barrel. Even after the work, hollow points are still sketchy.
I’m with you on the trigger pull. I don’t like it either. Don’t know whether to pay extra money to upgrade the trigger. I also find that some .380 ammo don’t seem to have enough oomph to cycle the slide. I clean it, add a little dab of oil, and the slide still sometimes fails to cycle.
It is, hands down, the worst...period.
I traded mine in on a Kimber and then gave the Kimber to my daughter.
Night and day.
One does not need a laser if one has a decent trigger, a trigger that does not pull the gun off target by 10 feet.
I got the Kimber down to about 3.5 pull.
The best I ever had out of the Bodyguard was 12.5...and I felt that was dangerous enough to the point that when I traded it in, it was with the caveat that the trigger was potentially dangerous.
I probably would have given the damn thing away.
As it was, I felt lucky to get a $300.00 trade-in on it.
I’ve got a Ruger 380 with laser as a CC but am going to trade it in - I want to keep one in the chamber but they don’t come with a safety.

Yeah, that’s why I inherited it from my wife. I keep it in a pocket in the door of my FRS. Pretty safe there even with a round in the chamber.
No, I keep it clean and lubed.
Also, have worked on a solid grip.
I learned shooting on a 22 LR J-frame. Smooth, but VERY heavy. The S&W Bodyguard is easy in comparison. N-frame revolvers are also good for teaching one to handle significant trigger pulls. Normal is around 12 lbs DA.

You can have your spare mag be an extended mag
Cleaned and lubed doesn’t matter. A lot of the Interarms Walther PPK-Ss had manufacturing problems that resulted in the barrel and ramp not matching up properly, causing jams no matter how much lube you kept in the area.
I have an earlier one that jammed until a little machining was done, I’m guessing you have one of the later models where they corrected the problems. If you’ve never had jamming issues at the ramp, you’re lucky.
Have you ever fired that one? Double stack mag and it’s a big gun for a pocket. Great for concealed carry under a jacket or shirt out. But not so good for pocket.
I hate to admit this but the Walthers made in Germany (and France) are better quality than the U.S. made ones.
