President Donald Trump's comments on Friday in Alabama that NFL teams should cut any player who protests during the national anthem left a bad taste in the mouths of many players, and it turns out multiple ownership groups took issue with his speech as well.
"Wouldn't you love to see one of these NFL owners, when somebody disrespects our flag, to say, 'Get that son of a b---- off the field right now," Trump said to a cheering crowd in Huntsville. "Out. He's fired. He's fired."
Commissioner Roger Goodell called out the president for his remarks, and players from Richard Sherman to LeSean McCoy and more shared their responses on Twitter. But they weren't alone in criticizing the president for his comments.
Giants owners John Mara and Steve Tisch released a statement Saturday:
"Comments like we heard last night from the president are inappropriate, offensive and divisive. We are proud of our players, the vast majority of whom use their NFL platform to make a positive difference in our society."(continued)

Yeah, and the heck if I ever willingly watch another NBA game.
Last week Rush pretty much said the nfl was done.
This is rich coming from the National Wife Beating League.
I wonder how many fans are still willing to go into hock for NFL tickets each year. I fielded a call Friday at work from the Philadelphia Eagles wanting to sell tickets to my employer. Pro tickets are a Business-2-Business transaction now.
I’d love to see fans walk out, but many are gifted the tickets and they already paid to park. My guess is that so few will leave that it won’t be noticeable. Like I said earlier, most ticket buyers are companies who expense sports tickets as T&E. Many times they give the tx to employees if they aren’t entertaining customers.
[Exactly! And to think Green Bay is the conservative center of Wisconsin. I wonder what those owners think of their team now?]
I could picture Vince Lombardi putting up with this bullsh**.
The league also signed off on the disrespectful Beabouncy half time show. They bought into the alt left years ago and are just now feeling push back.
This is awesome.
Mealy mouthed PC coward speak - versus - Trump’s all American truth torpedoes.
You can’t win, Roger, et al. You just can’t.
“Hey! Team Owners:
DONT BITE THE HAND THAT FEEDS YOU!
total idiots they are”
Hope they enjoy their bankruptcy. Another American institution down the tubes thanks to democrats.
But they have the money. When that stops they’ll pay attention.
You and me. And a few others I know.
That team is owned by us and not some rich guy.
Just what “positive differences” does any of these fools make? Just a bunch of entitled, overpaid lunks, many of whom would be sitting behind bars by now if there weren’t millionaire athletes.
Felons can’t hold office, but they can vote for Hillary in Virginia. The governor said so.
Looks like former ESPN sportscaster Keith Olbermann sent this guy a joke:
Chicago Bulls player: Soon Trump won’t be able to visit the White House either

Here are some NFL demographics on fans:
https://brandongaille.com/17-captivating-nfl-fans-demographics/
Most NFL fans historically have been white.
At the start of the 2014 season, NFL surveys revealed that the league was approximately 68% African-American and about 28% white, with the remaining 4% comprising Asian/Pacific Islander, non-white Hispanics, and those preferring a Mixed Race category.
The average NFL salary is $1.9 million per year.
I could not find data on the racial makeup of the people that work at the stadiums, the concession people, the parking lot folks, etc. My experience is that they are mostly African American.
At the end of the day a bunch of rich black guys are killing a business that supports them and 1,000’s of other black folks.
Team owners, the players, the idiots at ESPN, etc. are committing suicide. The only thing good I’ve seen come out of the NFL in ages is JJ Watt using his fame to help a bunch of people after a disaster.
I suspect like most people I will not give a $hit if the NFL goes out of business. What pisses me off is knowing that taxpayers all over the country have been fleeced out of millions to build these stadiums for the idiots who now are killing the business those stadiums were built for.
NFL = Not For Long.....
Sounds like a threat to me.
